News: The reporter learned from the China Railway Corporation that the 2024 national railway summer transportation will start on July 1. During the 62-day summer transportation period, it is expected that 860 million passengers will be transported.
It is reported that this summer, the demand for student, tourist and family visits is strong, and the railway passenger flow will remain high. From July 1 to August 31, the national railway sent an average of 13.87 million passengers per day. The railway department has increased its capacity. On the basis of implementing the peak train operation diagram in the third quarter, 276 temporary passenger trains are scheduled to be added every day, and an average of about 11,500 passenger trains are scheduled to be arranged every day. In popular directions, temporary passenger trains are added, EMUs are re-coupled, and ordinary trains are added with carriages to increase capacity. In addition, the railway department also actively promotes new ticket services such as trip tickets, regular tickets, and tourist packages during the summer travel season.

Nanjing is expected to send 17.3 million passengers during the summer travel season
The reporter learned from Nanjing Railway Station that during this year's summer travel season, Nanjing, Jiangsu is expected to send 17.3 million passengers, an increase of 5.7% over the same period last year.
Based on past experience, Nanjing Railway Station predicts that passenger flow in August this year will be significantly greater than in July, and the peak of summer travel will be reached in the middle and late part of the month. The average daily passenger flow on weekends is expected to reach about 320,000.

Civil aviation increases capacity to serve summer travel needs
In terms of civil aviation, during the summer travel season, major airlines have made good arrangements for capacity deployment and optimized route network layout in the direction of hot tourist cities to meet the travel needs of passengers.
In response to domestic hot spots during the summer travel season, Air China focused on increasing capacity in hot cities such as Xinjiang, Chengdu-Chongqing, Shandong, and Hainan. The average daily domestic flight volume during the summer vacation was 1,444 flights, an increase of nearly 40% over the summer of 2019.
During the summer travel season, China Eastern Airlines will deploy nearly 800 passenger aircraft, including six domestically-produced large aircraft C919, to operate 1,002 passenger routes, covering 249 domestic and international destinations; it plans to operate an average of 3,213 passenger flights per day, and international and regional flights will recover to 102% of the same period in 2019.
China Southern Airlines' new and increased domestic routes are mainly concentrated in popular tourist cities in Xinjiang, Northeast China, Northwest China and North China, and new routes have been opened to and from Altay from Shanghai, Shenzhen, Yinchuan, Changchun, Wuhan and Harbin.
