From Jiaotong University to MIT and Caltech, he has a full set of "bachelor's, master's and doctoral" degree certificates from prestigious schools in China and the United States, as well as a wedding invitation from his wife Jiang Ying, as well as "two bombs and one satellite" awarded by the party and the country. A reporter from Jiefang Daily and Shangguan News learned that the first batch of 12 cultural relics in the collection were identified as national first-level cultural relics, the earliest of which is about 90 years old. These include the undergraduate diploma awarded to Qian Xuesen by the National Chiao Tung University, the certificate and medal awarded by the Science Prize Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to Qian Xuesen for his book "Engineering Cybernetics" and the first prize of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Science Prize. The State Council and the Central Military Commission awarded Qian Xuesen the honor of "National Outstanding Contribution Scientist" Certificates of honor for titles, Luan letters from Qian Xuesen and Jiang Ying, etc.
Qian Xuesen Library launched the cultural relic grading work in 2015. It conducted in-depth research on the source, historical background, value, and historical significance of cultural relics. It invited Shanghai cultural relic appraisal experts to participate in appraisal meetings many times to evaluate the historical and scientific value of cultural relics. Wait for careful analysis and judgment. Finally, after strict screening and judgment, the identification of the first batch of first-class cultural relics in the collection was completed. So far, Qian Xuesen Library has identified 16,611 items in its collection, including 12 national first-level cultural relics, 99 second-level cultural relics, 10,471 third-level cultural relics, 5,577 general cultural relics, and 452 unclassified cultural relics.
Revitalize cultural relics and tell scientists’ stories well. In recent years, based on collection research, Qian Xuesen Library has launched a number of original exhibitions such as "Choice - Qian Xuesen's Original Aspiration and Belief", "Looking at Neighbors from a Distance", "Meeting Qian Xuesen Again", and has successively compiled "Qian Xuesen Spiritual Reader", "The Party's Scientific and Technological Heroes", " The major collections of Qian Xuesen Library: Cultural Relics Have Something to Say, "Qian Xuesen as a Flag of Science", "Listen to the Director's Story of Qian Xuesen" and other 47 published works involving Qian Xuesen's life, academic thoughts, scientist's spirit and other perspectives with differentiated and multi-dimensional perspectives.
On the same day, during the academic seminar on "The Communication Value of Qian Xuesen's Spirit in the New Era" sponsored by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the Municipal Education Commission, and the Municipal Association for Science and Technology, the National "Qian Xuesen" Scientist Spiritual Education Base Consortium awarded the plaque in the preface hall of Qian Xuesen Library. This education base consortium is jointly initiated and voluntarily formed by units, institutions or enterprises whose main content is to showcase the deeds and spirit of People's Scientist Qian Xuesen. It is a regional, professional, non-profit, non-corporate organization.
It is reported that after the formation of the consortium, it will carry out joint actions, exert linkage effects, and create a number of brand activities with the theme of promoting the spirit of scientists. They include: 10 national spiritual education bases for scientists, including the Qian Xuesen Library of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the Institute of Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and 11 Qian Xuesen Memorial Exhibitions including the High School Affiliated to Beijing Normal University and the School of Space Science and Technology of Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology.
