Enthusiastic young people draw a red picture of life on July 1: Shanghai Blood Center blood donation vehicle stops at the site of the First Congress

Today, a red-themed blood donation vehicle with its distinctive "Passionate New Youth" logo parked beside the Memorial Hall of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China. In front of the vehicle, volunteers held up promotional signs and enthusiastically introduced the significance of blood donation to passers-by; while citizens who were ready to donate blood filled out the forms carefully. Their love and dedication, together with the enthusiasm of the volunteers, painted a moving picture of urban public welfare.

This is a public welfare project of "Passionate New Youth" jointly initiated by Shanghai Blood Center and the "First Public Welfare" affiliated to the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China Memorial Hall. It innovatively combines red education with public welfare blood donation, inspires the passion and dedication of the new generation of young people, and encourages them to take practical actions to bring hope of life to patients in need of blood. As of 3 pm, more than 20 caring people have boarded the blood donation vehicle to participate in free blood donation.

It is reported that since the launch of the "World Blood Donor Day on June 14", the project has attracted countless loving blood donors and volunteers. Wang Yanbin is an old party member with 29 years of party membership and is responsible for party building in a certain catering group. What many colleagues don't know is that he is also a regular blood donor with more than 50 blood donation records. For Wang Yanbin, blood donation and volunteer service have become a part of his daily life. On July 1 last year, Wang Yanbin donated blood in Beijing to celebrate the birthday of the party in a special way; today, he once again expressed his faith and dedication with actions, and came to the Memorial Hall of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China to donate blood. "I want to continue to practice the purpose of 'serving the people wholeheartedly' with my own blood in this historic place."

Chen Xin is a young party member from Shanghai University Shanghai Film Academy. She has demonstrated the social responsibility and commitment of passionate young people with practical actions. Since she was a child, she has been influenced by her mother and determined to become a helpful person. After she became an adult, she not only turned this wish into action, but also injected hope into the lives of others through the special way of blood donation. Chen Xin, who is only 23 years old, is already a regular blood donor with many blood donation experiences. On this special day today, she chose the blood donation vehicle next to the Memorial Hall of the First Congress of the Communist Party of China to complete her first blood donation in Shanghai. "This blood donation experience is of great significance to me. It is a practice of my beliefs. In the future, I will continue to donate blood to save lives and write my youth with blood."

It is reported that the Municipal Blood Center also specially customized "First Public Welfare" themed seals and co-branded souvenirs for blood donors, which are not only a testimony to their participation in public welfare and dedication of love, but also a precious memory. The Municipal Blood Center Party Committee launched an initiative to young party and league members, mobilizing young party and league members to use their rest time to go to the "First National Congress of the Communist Party of China Memorial Hall" and other blood donation sites to carry out free blood donation publicity and recruitment volunteer services, which received positive responses and enthusiastic participation from the majority of party and league members.

At the same time, this passionate initiative has also been responded to by the Party Committee of Shanghai Clinical Laboratory Center. Today, party and league member volunteers from the Municipal Blood Center and the Municipal Clinical Laboratory Center formed a joint volunteer team. They wore volunteer red vests and held propaganda boards to publicize blood donation knowledge to the public and collect blood. At present, 37 league members of the Municipal Blood Center have used their rest time to participate in volunteer services, with a total service time of nearly 100 hours. Many volunteers also donated their blood after completing the service to support this public welfare action. It is expected that by the end of July, more than 100 party and league members will join the ranks of volunteers to ensure the clinical blood supply in Shanghai with practical actions, demonstrating the sense of responsibility and mission of young people in the new era.

In order to expand the public welfare influence of the project and encourage more people to participate, the "Passionate Young People" project also opened the "Passionate Young People Theme Blood Donation Vehicle" to the public as a volunteer service base. Citizens can sign up for volunteer service by scanning the QR code through the Shanghai Blood Center WeChat official account. Since June 15, more than 430 citizens have signed up for volunteer service. After volunteering for 2 hours, you can get a joint volunteer service certificate of a large public welfare.

Lin Junjie, secretary of the Party Committee of the Municipal Blood Center, said that recently, the Shanghai Blood Center Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Committee of the Memorial Hall of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China reached an agreement on the joint party building. By carrying out pairing and joint construction activities of grassroots party organizations, the two sides will gradually realize the normalization of complementary advantages, work interaction, and talent cultivation. They will jointly create a new era party building service model that integrates party member education, serving the people, and cultural propaganda, comprehensively enhance the creativity, cohesion and combat effectiveness of grassroots party organizations, and actively build a new pattern of party building work for both sides.

Shanghai is a medical import city with advanced medical technology and an increasing number of high-precision surgeries every year, which also puts higher demands on clinical blood supply. According to statistics, Shanghai needs 1,700 blood units every day to ensure the blood demand of clinical patients. With the approach of the hot summer season, high temperatures may lead to a decrease in pedestrians on the streets, posing a challenge to blood recruitment. Therefore, the Municipal Blood Center calls on more caring citizens to actively participate in the ranks of free blood donation, relay for life, and help for love. The "Hot-blooded New Youth" blood donation vehicle will be parked next to the Memorial Hall of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China until July 23. Citizens can make an appointment to donate blood or sign up for volunteer services through the WeChat official account of the Municipal Blood Center to jointly write a chapter of love for this city.
