Jingning She Autonomous County was officially established on June 30, 1984. As the only She Autonomous County in China, "nine mountains, half water, and half farmland" was once the true portrayal of Jingning. It was the dream of several generations to get out of the mountains and get rid of poverty.
The development of ethnic minority areas has always been on Xi Jinping's mind. When he was working in Zhejiang, Xi Jinping used Jingning as a grassroots work contact point. He visited Jingning twice in 2002 and 2005 to conduct research and guidance, visiting villages, farmers, tea mountains, and discussing development. In 2006, Xi Jinping further issued an important instruction to Jingning: "Jingning must keep up with the pace of the times and must be given special support."
After General Secretary Xi Jinping came to work in the central government, he made many important instructions and instructions on the development of Jingning.
