During the May Day holiday, a video showing "There are no chickens in the beggar's chickens in Hefang Street, Hangzhou" sparked heated discussions among netizens. A clerk at the store involved said that because there were too many customers during the May Day holiday, the temporarily hired clerk mistakenly packaged the beggar's chicken model to this customer. The market supervision department is investigating the matter but there is no result yet, and the store is operating as usual.
Netizen Xia Ruoqianmo explained in the comment area of the related video that she bought three of them at the time. One was good and she ate it while it was hot. The other two were packaged for her family. When she opened them, she found that they were full of dirt.
"We didn't do it on purpose. There were too many customers during the May Day holiday. The temporary clerk was inexperienced and packaged the model to the customer by mistake." A clerk said that they had tried to contact the customer involved to discuss compensation matters, but the other party kept insisting. No reply, now their Beggar’s Chicken is no longer available. He said that the store only started selling beggar's chickens on May Day this year. The products were purchased from upstream manufacturers and sold for 30 yuan each.
