Exclusive video: Xi Jinping meets with Peruvian President: The two countries should use civilizational wisdom to make new contributions to human peace and development
On the afternoon of June 28, President Xi Jinping held talks with Peruvian President Borruarte, who was on a state visit to China, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Xi Jinping pointed out that the President is welcome to pay a state visit to China. The friendship between China and Peru has a long history and is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. Not long ago, the Peruvian Congress almost unanimously passed a resolution to designate February 1 of each year as "China-Peru Friendship Day", which fully reflects the friendly feelings of the Peruvian people towards the Chinese people. China highly appreciates this. Chinese civilization and Inca civilization complement each other in the long river of human history. As important emerging market countries in the Pacific Rim and important members of the "Global South", facing the great changes in the world that have not been seen in a century, the two countries should use civilization and wisdom to make new contributions to the cause of human peace and development.
Boruart said: "Dear Mr. President, in the past two days we have visited Shenzhen, Shanghai and Suzhou yesterday afternoon. Visiting these cities has given us a direct understanding of China's rapid development and technological progress, and has shown us the areas where our two countries can further expand cooperation in the future. I would like to reiterate that Peru firmly adheres to the one-China principle. Peru and China are both ancient countries with a history of thousands of years and the cradle of human civilization. The two great civilizations, due to their long history and cultural heritage, set off each other and shine brightly in the history of world civilization."
