On the afternoon of June 28, the "Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and the 30th Anniversary of the Founding of the Pudong New Area Artists Association - Shanghai Pudong and Zhejiang Hangzhou Chinese Painting Works Joint Exhibition" opened at the Pudong Biyun Art Museum. With calligraphy and painting as a bridge and art as a medium, the two places held a joint exhibition of works to highlight the regional characteristics based on "Jiangnan culture", jointly build a highland of artistic talents in the Yangtze River Delta, jointly create cultural brand activities in the Yangtze River Delta, jointly promote the fine works of the Yangtze River Delta, and share the achievements of the Yangtze River Delta.

Jiangnan has always been a place with distinct regional characteristics and special cultural heritage. Many famous calligraphers and painting schools have emerged, and Shanghai and Hangzhou are the major art centers in the Jiangnan region. Under the background of the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, Pudong and Hangzhou have held art exchange activities many times in recent years. On this basis, this exhibition specially invites 84 artists from the two places to bring their masterpieces to the exhibition, covering landscapes, figures, flowers and birds, with rich themes, diverse forms, and a collection of styles, which can be called an art feast. These masterpieces are either graceful and fresh, casual and casual, or gorgeous and modest.

"Excellent literary and artistic works are the fruits of creation and the product of the times. Pudong and Hangzhou are connected geographically and culturally. The rich cultural heritage and unique artistic resources together weave the exquisite and shining brocade of 'Jiangnan culture'." Xu Liquan, executive director of the Shanghai Academy of Painting and Calligraphy and chairman of the Pudong New Area Artists Association, said that by making friends through literature and gathering hearts through literature, Pudong and Hangzhou will jointly promote the construction of literary and artistic talent teams in the two places and promote artistic creation and cultural exchanges between the two places.

Another significance of this exhibition is to celebrate the 30th birthday of the Pudong Artists Association. In 1994, under the historical tide of Pudong's development and opening up, the Pudong Artists Association came into being. Over the past 30 years, the association has continued to grow and develop, resonating with the development of the times. At present, the Pudong Artists Association has 610 members, including 43 members of the China Artists Association. Many members have emerged in the calligraphy and painting circles of Shanghai and even the whole country, and their works have been selected and won awards in national and municipal competitions. At the same time, the Pudong Artists Association actively builds an age echelon that combines the old, middle-aged and young. Every year, it recruits members from graduates and students of art colleges. Among the members, 25 are born in the 1990s. In addition to artistic creation, the Pudong Artists Association also actively organizes members to enter communities, schools, government agencies, and enterprises to carry out art popularization courses to help inherit the excellent traditional Chinese culture.

The exhibition is guided by the Pudong New Area Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, and hosted by the Pudong New Area Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Shanghai Painting and Calligraphy Academy, Pudong New Area Culture and Art Guidance Center, Pudong New Area Artists Association, Hangzhou Painting Academy, and Hangzhou Artists Association. It will last until August 2. In the future, the exhibition will also tour the Hangzhou Painting Academy Art Museum.
