The 6th China International Outdoor Image Carnival released the honor list in Shanghai
On June 30, the final review conference of the 6th OUTDOCS China International Outdoor Imaging Carnival, co-organized by SMG Documentary Center and the OUTDOCS China International Outdoor Imaging Carnival Organizing Committee, was held at the ISPO Shanghai Outdoor Sports Exhibition, and the list of 9 honorary works was officially announced.
Previously, after four months of solicitation, this year's competition received a total of 1,656 works from 105 countries and regions around the world, covering three major themes: extreme adventure and sports, natural ecology and environmental protection, and outdoor culture and lifestyle. After screening and preliminary evaluation, 65 works entered the re-evaluation and 25 works entered the final evaluation.
Finally, the Finnish documentary "Lynx Keeper" won two honors, the Best Documentary Feature and the Best Natural Ecology and Environmental Protection Documentary of the Year. The film tells the story of a Finnish hermit who uses hidden cameras to record shy and endangered lynx at night, depicting a colorful and vivid twilight picture through unforgettable beautiful shots.
"Ms. Deda Returns to the Sea" won the annual Outstanding Documentary Short, "Facing the Cruel Wall" won the Outstanding Adventure Spirit Documentary, "Silent Autumn" won the Outstanding Outdoor Humanities Documentary, "The Fifth Tide" won the Outstanding Visual Presentation Documentary, and "Animals" won the Media Special Recommendation Outstanding Documentary and Surprise Honor. It is worth mentioning that the Chinese Story Special Recommendation for Excellent Documentary belongs to "Our Biodiversity - Zhuonai Lake", which is also the first documentary reflecting the biodiversity in the hinterland of Hoh Xil. Another Chinese documentary nominated at the same time is "The Wonder of Life - Medog Forest".
Currently, the seventh OUTDOCS global collection is being prepared. This is the only international collection platform for outdoor documentaries in China. It aims to use documentaries to freeze and pay tribute to the magnificent world landscape and the enterprising spirit of human adventure, and to create an outdoor image aesthetic and communication system with Chinese characteristics. Since its establishment in 2017, OUTDOCS has been held annually, and established competition and public performance projects in 2019. So far, it has received more than 4,000 works from more than 100 countries and regions, covering themes such as sportsmanship, natural adventure, outdoor culture, extreme sports, environmental protection, travel humanities, mountain culture, etc., involving more than 10 outdoor sports categories such as climbing, skiing, cross-country running, paragliding, etc., and there are many films that have won awards and been shortlisted in internationally renowned mountain film festivals.
