Diversified "night tours" continue to heat up and ignite the city's "fireworks"
People's Daily, Beijing, June 25th. Walk into the crowded night market to taste the special food, listen to an open-air concert on a summer night, and go to the museum to unlock the unique experience of night exploration... Since this summer, many parts of the country have vigorously developed the night economy industry, and new business forms, new models, and new scenes of "night markets and night tours" have continued to emerge, adding new impetus to urban consumption.
As night falls and lights come on, people who have been busy all day go out to visit night markets, taste delicious food and enjoy their leisure time. Currently, the night economy continues to heat up in various places, promoting nighttime consumption.
At 6:30 in the evening, the Zhengding Night Market in Hebei Province was already crowded with people. More than 600 merchants were busy selling stinky tofu, spicy hot pot, baked buns, lamb skewers... all kinds of delicious food were wafting in the air, and people were bustling about.
The Zhengding Night Market has become a microcosm of the current nationwide "night economy". Since the beginning of summer, night markets in Nanjing, Changsha, Donggang and other places across the country have become more popular.
In Liuzhou, Guangxi, Guangxi specialties such as duck feet snail stew and fried snail noodles sold in Fengqinggang Night Market have attracted a large number of tourists; at the Xuyi Lobster Market in Jiangsu, there are more than a dozen lobster restaurants of all sizes. Some people come from far away to use crayfish for team building, while others miss the taste of their hometown.
In addition to checking in for delicious food, night tourism is also becoming more colorful. As the fresh blood of cultural and tourism integration, night tourism projects are gradually becoming an important part of the development of the "night economy" and a blue ocean in the tourism market.
The Hunan Museum in Changsha, Hunan Province has extended its night opening hours, allowing visitors to experience the real-life puzzle game "The Mystery of Mawangdui Runes", learn about the historical relics of Mawangdui, and explore the Hunan culture; in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, tourists can take a boat trip on the Pingjiang River, listen to the delicate and gentle Suzhou folk songs, and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Jiangnan water town at night, which is unique; in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, taking a sightseeing cableway to tour the Songhua River at night has become a must-do for many tourists... Relying on the unique natural and cultural resources of the local area, various places have innovated experiences, enriched the nighttime cultural and tourism consumption scenes, and made nighttime tourism an important means of "prospering the city at night".
From night market snacks to nighttime cultural experiences, the "night economy" has extended consumption time, expanded consumption space, and met the growing diversified needs of consumers. Since the beginning of this year, many places have introduced a combination of "day and night" policies to vigorously develop the night economy. The reporter learned that the 2024 Shanghai Nightlife Festival will last from June to September, launching a number of special activities such as Museum Wonderful Night, Zoo Wonderful Night, Sports Night, E-sports Night, as well as terrace season, park season, and waterfront season, which will gradually light up new nighttime consumption scenes in the city such as "parks, terraces, and waterfronts".
In this regard, Liang Feng, associate professor at the School of Business of Nankai University, said in an interview with the media that from a simple taste economy to an audio-visual economy and then to an experience economy, immersive, interactive and artistic night economic models are constantly emerging, becoming the golden key to promoting consumption and boosting the economy in many parts of my country.
The continued hot "night economy" shows the consumption vitality of various places and has become an important engine to promote urban economic growth. At the same time, the prosperity of the "night economy" and the rise of cultural tourism complement each other, bringing tourists a more colorful night life experience and adding more "fireworks" to the city.
