Attention Shanghai citizens: There will be significant precipitation during the working hours tomorrow, so please plan ahead before traveling. Short-term heavy precipitation can easily cause waterlogging in some areas, so pay attention to road traffic safety. Be on guard against thunderstorms and strong winds, and put away outdoor items in time to prevent falling objects from high altitudes. In case of thunderstorms, take shelter indoors in time, and do not stay under large trees, open spaces, billboards, or temporary structures.
The municipal meteorological department specially reminded that the situation of Meiyu this year is typical, and the Meiyu front remains stable in the Yangtze River basin. Since entering the plum, the heavy precipitation process in Shanghai has been frequent and local. There were three torrential rain processes from 18 to 19, 21 and 22 to 23 respectively. According to rainfall statistics from 20:00 on the 18th to 8: 00 on the 24th, the Meiyu of most national stations in Shanghai is 80,160mm, while that of Xujiahui Station is 88.6mm, double that of the same period of the normal year, with the maximum being 161.6 mm at Jinshan Station.
Meiyu has not only brought heavy precipitation to Shanghai, but also considerable precipitation in the whole Taihu Lake basin. The water level of 15 stations in the river network area around Taihu Lake has exceeded the alarm by 0.01 to 0.40 meters. The emergency response of geological disasters in Hangzhou and Quzhou has been upgraded to Ⅲ level. Xin'anjiang Hydropower Station opened the sluice gate again after 4 years. In the next three days, the average accumulated surface rainfall in Taihu Lake basin will reach 110mm to 130mm. Heavy precipitation continues, superimposing the impact of upstream water, and so on. People who go to Shanghai recently should also pay special attention to the weather and flood control information.
