Application scenarios drive the development of Yangpu's green and low-carbon industries, and the coal ash silo of the thermal power plant has become a zero-carbon demonstration benchmark
The coal ash silo of the former thermal power plant has now become a green zero-carbon energy storage demonstration benchmark. Such a huge leap happened in Yangpu Riverside. Recently, Weijing Energy Storage's zinc-iron liquid flow battery energy storage demonstration project "Zero-carbon Smart Integrated Energy Center" was listed as a new energy storage pilot demonstration project by the National Energy Administration. This is also the only new energy storage project listed in Shanghai.
The Zero Carbon Smart Integrated Energy Center integrates photovoltaic technology, smart energy management, new energy storage, carbon footprint analysis and low-carbon concept cafes, presenting a full-scene urban zero-carbon community. It cleverly uses the coal ash bin of the Yangshupu Power Plant. After the photovoltaic panel roof converts solar energy into electricity, the zinc-iron liquid flow battery integrates the electricity into the system storage, ensuring efficient storage and release of electricity, providing stable green electricity for surrounding cafes, charging piles, landscape lighting and other facilities, and realizing "multi-energy complementarity".
According to the relevant person in charge of Weijing Energy Storage, the zinc-iron liquid flow battery technology, with its non-flammable, non-explosive and zero-pollution characteristics, meets the project's high safety and environmental protection requirements for energy storage products. Weijing Energy Storage focuses on the research and development of liquid flow batteries and large-scale intelligent manufacturing. It has independently developed the liquid flow battery intelligent production line with the highest automation rate in the industry. Its products are used in various energy and power service scenarios such as power supply side energy storage, grid side peak regulation, industrial and community user side energy storage, etc.
Weijing Energy Storage is a representative enterprise of the green and low-carbon industry that Yangpu focuses on developing. Circular economy representative enterprises Wanwu Xinsheng, Fujie Environmental Protection and Hanxing Energy, which are actively developing hydrogen energy business, professional testing representative enterprise Huayan Testing and a number of smart grid-related enterprises have also settled in Yangpu.
The reporter learned from the Yangpu District Development and Reform Commission that the green and low-carbon industry in Yangpu District has initially formed a good ecology integrating the "four chains" of technology, industry, capital and talent. The four major universities of Fudan, Tongji, Shanghai University of Technology and Shanghai Electric Power and technical innovation service institutions such as Futan Energy and Technology Exchange have supported the innovation source; a group of investment institutions such as CM Ventures focus on the two major sectors of energy transformation and decarbonization; recently, high-level industrial platforms such as the Green and Low-Carbon Industry Alliance in the field of urban and rural construction, the ESG Summit Forum, and the Shanghai International Green and Low-Carbon Concept Verification Center have also been built.
At present, Yangpu District has initially formed industrial agglomeration in Dachuangzhi, Dachuang Valley, and Huantongji, and will also undertake green and low-carbon industrial agglomeration in Yangpu Binjiang in the future. In addition, the CMEC Evergreen Low-Carbon International Innovation Base project is being further demonstrated. The project envisions the use of the "fund base" model, plans to introduce international professional venture capital institutions, build high-quality incubators, and attract investment departments of Fortune 500 companies, green and low-carbon investors, and high-growth companies to settle in.
For emerging industries such as green and low-carbon, application scenarios can effectively drive industrial development. In addition to Binjiang's zero-carbon smart integrated energy center, Yangpu also supports key enterprises to explore new models of green and low-carbon transformation that are suitable for Yangpu's development. For example, Volcano Engine and Midea Building Technology jointly created a smart park solution, and carried out smart transformation of Shanghai Douyin Group's New Jiangwancheng office park, achieving energy conservation and emission reduction, and creating a benchmark for green and smart parks.
Relevant officials of Yangpu District said that they will continue to introduce integrated policies to support the development of green and low-carbon tracks. The "Yangpu District Photovoltaic Development Support Measures" issued earlier have led Yulong Technology and Envision Energy to implement photovoltaic storage and charging integrated projects in Bay Valley Technology Park. In the future, Yangpu District will further integrate supportive policies on subdivided tracks, platform construction, project support, green electricity and green certificates, green finance, special activities, etc., to form a "one-stop" policy guide for the green and low-carbon field in Yangpu District.
