Not in Xianju? , the ancestral place of Dongkui Yangmei
Recently, the science and technology going to the countryside activity of the Bayberry Industry Promotion Branch of the China Agricultural Technology Extension Association was launched in Huangyan, and the activity will last until July 15. This science and technology going to the countryside is for nothing else but Huangyan Dongkui Bayberry.
When it comes to bayberry, the most famous one is Xianju County, which also belongs to Taizhou. In fact, Huangyan has a long history of bayberry cultivation. It is one of the important bayberry production areas in Zhejiang Province. It is also the ancestral home of Dongkui bayberry and the only "Hometown of High-quality Chinese Bayberry" in the country. In order to promote the high-quality development of the bayberry industry, in recent years, Huangyan has relied on the unique advantages of the permanent venue of the Bayberry Industry Promotion Branch, actively connected with the expert team, and co-built the China Bayberry Science and Technology Innovation Center with Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Taizhou Science and Technology Vocational College, and cooperated in the Dongkui Bayberry Unveiling Project, to enhance the digitalization and intelligence of the bayberry industry, create a bayberry brand culture, and deepen the research and development of key technologies, transformation of results, and demonstration and promotion. At the launching ceremony on the same day, the Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Huangyan District signed an agreement to jointly build the Dongkui Bayberry Expo Hall and donated collections to the Dongkui Bayberry Expo Hall. At the same time, a signing ceremony of "The World's Dongkui Comes from Huangyan, Rural Revitalization Seeks Common Prosperity" was held.
Huangyan is the birthplace of Dongkui Bayberry. In 1959, the mother tree of Dongkui Bayberry was discovered in Dongao Village, Huangyan County. Locals called it "Dongao Big Bayberry" or "Dongao Giant Bayberry". Later, it was named "Dongkui Bayberry" by experts because of its large fruit, sweet and juicy taste, rich flavor and high yield. In 1992, Huangyan Dongkui Bayberry was recognized as a new variety. Since then, the domestic bayberry producing areas have ushered in the climax of Dongkui Bayberry's "introduction from all directions and transplantation from thousands of miles". It has become the variety with the largest cultivation area of bayberry in the country, accounting for about 50% of the total cultivated area. In June 2021, the Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences proved through gene sequencing that all domestic Dongkui Bayberries came from the mother tree in Dongkui Village, Jiangkou Street. Since the 1980s, more than 40 million Dongkui Bayberry seedlings have been transported from Huangyan to Sichuan, Guangxi, Yunnan and other provinces.
In recent years, Huangyan has focused on developing and expanding the Dongkui bayberry industry, exploring and promoting the culture of bayberry mother trees, and has successively introduced a series of supporting policies such as planting and facilities. According to statistics, the current bayberry planting area in Huangyan is 61,000 mu, distributed in 90% of the townships, with an annual output of 44,000 tons and an output value of 500 million yuan. At present, the district has successfully developed 84,000 Luoman bayberries, with a production of 5 million catties, which has led to a several-fold increase in the income of fruit farmers.
Good technology can produce good bayberry. In recent years, Huangyan has set up a special technical research team to focus on the innovation of Dongkui bayberry planting technology, develop technologies such as rapid growth of greenhouse bayberry, successfully overcome the problem of long bayberry growth cycle, and achieve rapid production of young Dongkui bayberry, which helps the green and high-quality development of the bayberry industry. In order to solve the problem of long production cycle, the local area started from comprehensively changing the bayberry growth environment and initially developed the "Dongkui bayberry large tree transplanting rapid production technology".
"We have built an intelligent greenhouse that can simulate the best growth conditions for plants." Xu Jianjun, deputy director of the Fruit Tree Technology Promotion Station of the Huangyan District Agriculture and Rural Bureau, introduced that the greenhouse is equipped with a series of monitoring equipment such as a weather station, a soil moisture monitoring station, and insect forecast lights, and the data is transmitted to the growers' mobile phones in real time. After opening the mobile phone application, you can see the temperature, humidity and real-time monitoring in the greenhouse, and control the temperature, humidity and water at any time according to the situation. Here, light, air, soil, water quality, and all factors related to the growth of bayberry have become controllable data, which not only achieves planting and production in the same year, but also brings multiple benefits through intensive planting on the plains and mechanized operations.
"We will continue to accelerate technological innovation and strive to achieve transplanting and fruiting of bayberry in the same year, and stable and high yields in the next year, demonstrating high quality and high efficiency," said Wang Lihong, member of the Party Committee and chief agronomist of the Huangyan District Agriculture and Rural Bureau. Next, on the basis of building a standardized base, we will implement technological innovation in every planting entity to achieve a dual improvement in brand and economic benefits.
