2-hour direct flight to enjoy weekend holidays, the "new favorite" for traveling to South Korea
When it comes to Korean tourist destinations, the first impression of many domestic tourists is Seoul and Jeju Island. Since this year, Busan, which is surrounded by mountains and the sea, has gradually become popular with its own sense of city temperament and has become the "new favorite" of Chinese tourists to Korea. Recently, the "Hug Busan" event organized by the Busan Tourism Development Bureau opened its arms in Shanghai at Raffles City North Bund, bringing the healing energy of Busan to citizens and tourists.
This past weekend, Shanghai North Bund Raffles was particularly lively. Citizens and tourists from all over the world gathered together to have a big "bear hug" with Busan. The "Hug Busan" Shanghai Station has five major locations, namely: Seagull "Hugger" Station, Turn Busan Citywalk, Stick Busan, Big "Hug" Light of Love, and Busan Signal Receiving Station. Pick up the "Hug Busan Passport" at the entrance, and you can immersively stroll around Busan, participate in a variety of interactive games, and receive prizes. The entire "Hug Busan" was inspired by the Blue Club, attracting many citizens and tourists to line up for "hugs", becoming a warm landscape in the mall.
As the second largest city in South Korea, Busan has a long coastline and towering mountains, and is rich in tourism resources. Among them, Haeundae Beach, Gamcheon Culture Village, Jagalchi Market, Songdo, Baeksho Culture Village and other attractions are all popular check-in destinations for Korean tourists. The sky capsule train, which is popular on major social media, has been frequently popular recently with its colorful shape and different aerial views, attracting countless fans. For tourists who want to taste the authentic local food in Busan, "Michelin Guide Seoul & Busan 2024" and "Taste of Busan 2024" may be the "best tour guides".
Recently, a series of new actions are pushing Busan to a new level of popularity: on September 11 last year, the Busan Pass, a tourist pass exclusively for foreign tourists, was officially released, winning the favor of foreign tourists; this year, Busan ranked among the "World's Best Cities" and ranked 67th in the world, and was hailed as the "Miami of South Korea"; the new airport on Gade Island will be officially opened in December 2029, marking a solid step for Busan in strengthening international exchanges and promoting regional development.
According to reports, there are direct flights between Shanghai and Busan, with two direct round-trip flights every day. It only takes two hours for Shanghai residents to fly to Busan for the weekend. In addition, with the increase in tourists, Busan has also opened direct flights to Qingdao, Beijing, Zhangjiajie, Shenyang and other cities.
Lee Jung-sil, director of the Busan Tourism Development Bureau, said in an interview that China is the largest market for inbound tourism in South Korea, and Shanghai is also one of Busan's important source markets. "In addition to vigorously strengthening business and economic exchanges between Busan and Shanghai, Busan will also work with major OTA platforms to continue to promote Busan individual travel through channels such as Xiaohongshu and Weibo KOL, so that Busan's food and scenery will attract more attention and love from Chinese tourists."
