Tibetan girls sang "March of the Volunteers" at Shenhua's home stadium, flowers bloomed and Gesang was gorgeous
On the evening of June 26, before the Chinese Super League Shanghai Shenhua played against Meizhou Hakka at home, Tibetan girl Dawa Jila, as the lead singer of the national anthem, sang "March of the Volunteers" at the Shanghai Stadium, leaving a precious scene. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the national counterparts' support for Tibet, and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Shanghai Shenhua team and its participation in the professional league. With football as a link to promote exchanges and integration between Shanghai and Tibet, and to strengthen the sense of community of the Chinese nation, the Shanghai Tibet Aid Cadres and Talents Liaison Group and Shanghai Shenhua Football Club jointly held a special joint charity event.
The "Shanghai Aid to Tibet·Shanghai Shenhua" joint public welfare promotion video played on the big screen at the scene reviewed the 30 years of Shanghai Aid to Tibet and Shanghai Shenhua, showing the important process of Shanghai Aid to Tibet and the glorious history of Shanghai Shenhua. At the end of the film, the blue LOGO of Shanghai Aid to Tibet and Shanghai Shenhua's 30th anniversary and the exclusive slogan of the event THECITYISBLUE, THECITYISLOVE appeared on the huge sky curtain, ring screen and big screen of Shanghai Stadium at the same time, reflecting each other. The audience and fans were infected by the warm atmosphere at the scene and gave rounds of applause; the Expo Axis in Pudong was also lit up in beautiful blue at the same time.
At the opening ceremony, nine Tibetan teenagers from Shigatse, Tibet, and 12 Shanghai teenagers served as ball boys and entered the stadium together with the referees and athletes from both teams. Dawajila, a Tibetan girl from Shigatse, Tibet and a fan of Shanghai Shenhua, dressed in traditional Tibetan clothing, stepped onto the court with Jiang Haorui and Zhu Haozhi, representatives of Shanghai Shenhua's young fans and children of aid-to-Tibet cadres, and led the audience to sing the national anthem, bringing the atmosphere to a climax.
In 2018, during a free clinic in Lhazi County, Shigatse, a medical aid team from Yangpu District, Shanghai, found that a Tibetan girl named Dawa Jila had severe scoliosis, which seriously affected her study and life. Because she was too young and not physically fit for surgery, the Shanghai medical aid team kept a close eye on little Dawa. As Dawa's physical condition continued to improve, the conditions for surgery became more and more mature.
In 2024, with the help of doctors from Shanghai who were helping Tibet, Dawa completed a scoliosis correction surgery at Shanghai Shidong Hospital. After the surgery, her weight increased from 48 catties to 60 catties, and her height increased from 122 cm when she was admitted to the hospital to 143 cm. Now Dawa has gotten rid of the brace and can walk and move normally. She no longer has to walk with a bent back. Her self-confidence has also improved, and she has started a new life. Before participating in the event on June 26, she had just completed the review and rehabilitation of the surgery in Shanghai.
In order to effectively fulfill the social responsibility of the Shanghai brand and support Shanghai's aid to Tibet with practical actions, in June this year, the person in charge of Shanghai Shenhua Football Club as well as coaches and athlete representatives made a special trip to Shigatse, Tibet, to investigate the development of youth campus football in Shigatse, guide the training of Shigatse youth players, donate football equipment to schools and institutions, interact with young fans, and help the development of youth football in Shigatse.
The Shenhua Club said that it will continue to promote youth exchange activities between Shanghai and Tibet, share first-class venues and teaching resources with more Tibetan football youths, provide a better, larger and more comprehensive football platform, help them realize their football dreams, and make due contributions to the cultivation of football reserve talents.
The Shanghai Cadres Aid to Tibet Liaison Group stated that it will continue to adopt more innovative and integrated methods in the future, increase efforts to promote communication and integration among young people, continue to promote national unity and progress, allow more young people from Shigatse to go out of Tibet and go to other parts of the country to feel the charm of cultural diversity, and at the same time, deeply integrate publicity and education with cultural and sports activities to forge a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, and jointly promote the brilliant blossoming of the flower of national unity and progress.
On that day, representatives of the Shanghai Aid to Tibet Cadres Liaison Group, representatives of previous batches of Shanghai Aid to Tibet cadres and talents, representatives of youth from Shigatse and Shanghai, family members of the Aid to Tibet cadres and talents, and representatives of relevant units attended the event.
