According to his public resume, Li Shisong is a male of the Bai nationality, born in February 1969, with a doctoral degree, a member of the Communist Party of China, and started working in July 1990. He has served as the director of the Yunnan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and was appointed deputy secretary of the Qujing Municipal Party Committee and acting mayor in January 2019, and mayor the following month.
In November 2021, Li Shisong was promoted to member of the Standing Committee of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, and then concurrently served as Secretary of the Qujing Municipal Party Committee. In December 2023, he was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Yunnan Provincial Government. In January this year, he was elected as Vice Governor of Yunnan Province, and was later identified as Executive Vice Governor of Yunnan Province until he was investigated in this announcement.
