Another batch of information and communication "black technology" debuted at the 2024 Shanghai World Mobile Communications Conference
You don’t have to go to the European Cup, you can build a "VIP viewing box" at home and feel the competition on the green field in an immersive way; after mobile phones are directly connected to satellites, cars can also be directly connected to satellites. In places where there is no signal, such as deep mountains and forests, next to deserts, etc., there is no need to worry about losing connection... On June 26, the 2024 Shanghai World Mobile Communications Conference kicked off, and another batch of information and communication "black technology" feasted the eyes of the audience.
This year's conference was held at the same time as the European Cup, and China Mobile's booth was crowded with people. A "VIP viewing box" built specifically for this conference using AR and VR technology was particularly eye-catching. In the box, the audience can not only obtain real-time game data and starting player information through an interactive 3D tactical sandbox, but also use enhanced 3D video to simulate scenes such as rain and falling leaves, as if they were on the European green field.
On the first day of the opening of the 2024 Shanghai World Mobile Communications Conference, the passenger flow was overwhelming. The increasingly prosperous Shanghai convention and exhibition economy has forced the construction of "smart exhibition halls" to continue to advance. At the China Mobile booth, a solution called "AI Smart Exhibition Hall" attracted many people in the industry to stop. The keywords of this solution are indoor Beidou positioning technology and digital twins. The staff told reporters that when they were setting up the booth this time, they carried out a full-area deployment of the indoor Beidou positioning system, with a positioning accuracy of sub-meter level. With the addition of the digital twin system platform, they can build a digital model of the real world in the digital world, and intuitively display the real-time movement trajectory of people in three-dimensional space in real time, thereby realizing the management of on-site traffic.
On September 8 last year, China Telecom officially launched the mobile phone direct satellite service. Users can easily access the satellite network or ground cellular network on demand without changing cards or numbers, and enjoy the integrated communication service of the earth and the sky at any time. After that, following the mobile phone direct satellite connection, China Telecom began to test the car direct satellite connection service. At the China Telecom booth at the 2024 Shanghai World Mobile Communications Conference, the world's first car equipped with Tiantong satellite communication function, the Yangwang U8 Off-Road Player Edition, was launched.
China Telecom showcases direct car-to-satellite service.
According to the staff, the car-to-car satellite is based on the "Tiantong-1" satellite mobile communication system independently developed by China, which provides a more complete communication method for vehicle-to-vehicle communication. In places where ground mobile networks and fixed networks cannot reach, such as deep mountains and forests, deserts and Gobi, the car-to-car satellite can provide car owners with reliable two-way voice calls and two-way text messaging services, thereby ensuring that car owners can access the satellite communication network on demand and improve the active safety capabilities of the car.
Instant express delivery, event support, environmental monitoring... People have too many imaginations about the low-altitude economy. At the booths of the three major operators at the 2024 Shanghai World Mobile Communications Conference, visitors can also learn about a variety of information and communication "black technologies" that have been or will be implemented, giving wings to the new productivity of the low-altitude economy.
At the China Telecom booth, the reporter learned that they are building a low-altitude intelligent network with basic capabilities such as "ubiquitous connection, global perception, and intelligent computing". It relies on China Telecom's 4G and 5G mobile network resources and integrates satellite, Internet of Things, Tianyi Cloud, artificial intelligence, quantum communication and other computing and network intelligence technologies, which can meet the "high density, high frequency, full coverage, large connection, high timeliness, and high safety" operation requirements of various aircraft in low-altitude economic scenarios. In addition, China Mobile is also building an air-ground connection management platform, aiming to provide industry customers with integrated air-ground connection management capabilities, and realize one-click card opening, integrated operation, and global services. China Unicom said that it is actively exploring the "5G drone" industry application scenarios, with the goal of achieving full network coverage within a range of 100 kilometers and airspace below 300 meters.
