More than 30,000 primary and secondary school students participated in artificial intelligence and programming practice activities to change their lives with creativity and AI
Turn waste materials around you into treasure, recycle them, and then program them to become a smart assistant... Chen Gaoyi, a student at Caoyang Experimental Primary School in Putuo District, exhibited his work "My Ecological Butler". The idea came from the school's Ecological Festival. Inspired by the recycling of resources from the campus vegetable garden and rain pond, he used waste materials to create an environmentally friendly home where animals and plants coexist. The era of artificial intelligence has arrived. Start from a young age and start from around you to make artificial intelligence better serve your life.
On the 22nd, the third Shanghai Youth Artificial Intelligence and Programming Practice Activity ushered in the final review, and some projects were carried out simultaneously at Shanghai Normal University and the Affiliated Middle School of East China University of Science and Technology. The contestants demonstrated their works on site, and through expert defense and comprehensive quality tests related to artificial intelligence and programming, they showed their scientific and technological innovation style and practical ability.
The 3rd Shanghai Youth Artificial Intelligence and Programming Practice Activity.
In April this year, the third Shanghai Youth Artificial Intelligence and Programming Practice Activity was launched. Based on the successful holding of the first two events, this event actively responded to the requirements of the China Children and Teenagers Development Service Center to carry out the 16th National Youth Academy of Sciences "Little Academician" research results display and exchange activities, and combined with some of the Ministry of Education's "2022-2025 National Competition Activities for Primary and Secondary School Students" to further build a broader scientific and technological innovation practice and exchange platform for Shanghai youth. Since the launch of the practice activities, the organizers have organized six rounds of public science courses and activities, and young people across the city have responded positively. More than 30,000 primary and secondary school students from 16 districts have participated in course learning and activity experience, and many innovative results have been produced. On the basis of the original programming and artificial intelligence categories, this event has added a science and technology series and a robot series, with a total of 16 activity projects such as animated stories, creative games, exploration themes, and machine collaboration.
Hu Zhaozhe, a student from Shanghai Lingang Experimental Middle School, presented his work "Dynamic Traffic Light Control System Based on Traffic Flow Identification". The work aims to alleviate the traffic congestion problem in daily life. Through image recognition technology, a set of intersection vehicle traffic control system is constructed. The core of the project is to capture the intersection image in real time through the camera, and then use Baidu AI to identify the number and location of vehicles. The designed intelligent algorithm dynamically adjusts the timing of traffic lights to improve traffic efficiency. In addition, the system designed a traffic command robot, combined with the intelligent traffic light system collaborative control, to improve traffic management efficiency and effectively improve the smoothness of intersection traffic. Yang Yingxuan, a student from Loushan Middle School, presented his work "Digital Intelligence Emotion Interactive Multifunctional Desk Calendar". Thousands of creatures live on the earth with humans, some have disappeared, and some are on the verge of extinction. The cartoon images that are popular among young people are combined with endangered marine animal popular science books, flip calendars, interactive atmosphere lights and music to arouse everyone's attention to protecting the environment and marine ecology and jointly protect the earth. The judges highly praised the performance of the contestants and affirmed their innovative and exploratory spirit. The final list of winners will be released through the WeChat public accounts of Shanghai Youth Activity Center and Shanghai Youth Academy of Sciences in the near future.
This event is guided by the Shanghai Working Committee of the Young Pioneers, hosted by Shanghai Youth Activity Center and the Education Big Data and Education Decision-making Laboratory of the Ministry of Education, and undertaken by Shanghai Youth Science Academy and Shanghai Normal University. It aims to build a broad platform for scientific and technological innovation practice and exchange for young people, and further stimulate their interest and love for science and technology.
