The first phase of Fengxian New City's "Digital Jianghai" opens, and the "City of the Future" is unveiled
On the morning of June 24, the opening ceremony of Digital Jianghai Phase I and the groundbreaking ceremony of Phase II were held at Digital Jianghai Phase I Park in Fengxian New Town, Shanghai. At the event, relevant persons in charge of Lingang United Company handed over the keys to the first batch of companies settled in Digital Jianghai Park, including Zhixin Bio, Zhongbo Ruikang, Huidian Technology, and Wutong Sensing Control. Digital Jianghai Park also signed cooperation agreements with functional platforms such as Shanghai Western Returned Scholars Association, Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology East China Branch, Shanghai Jiaotong University Med-X Research Institute, Shanghai Digital Construction Engineering Technology Center, Fudan Lingang Industrialization Innovation Platform, and financial institutions such as ICBC Capital, CICC Capital, Guotai Junan, Oriental Fortune, and Shenwan Hongyuan.
As a demonstration and leading project for the transformation of Shanghai's "five new cities" and the "No. 1 Project" of Fengxian New City, Digital Jianghai is jointly developed by Lingang Group and Fengxian District. It has a total planned area of 2,060 acres and is planned to be completed in 7 phases within 10 years. It aims to use digital technology to construct "three cities" above ground, underground and in the cloud, and create Shanghai's first digital international industrial city with full penetration of urban power.
The first phase of the project opened this time covers an area of 178 acres, with a total construction area of 250,000 square meters, combining multiple functions such as office, R&D, production, and commerce. Among them, as one of the first batch of planned pilot projects in Shanghai, the highly anticipated "vertical factory" will also be unveiled in the park at the end of the year. The second phase of the Digital Jianghai Park has also started construction. It has more distinct characteristics in terms of work-life balance and will create a typical case of housing, R&D, and office in the same plot. "In the future, Digital Jianghai will introduce 1,000 companies, provide 20,000 jobs, and build it into a new highland for talent development and industrial agglomeration in southern Shanghai." A relevant person in charge of Digital Jianghai said.
Based on Fengxian's original industrial foundation and the park's own strategic positioning, Digital Jianghai has clearly identified smart terminals as its leading industry, precision medicine as its advantageous industry, and quantum computing as its key research industry. Liu Zhen, general manager of Digital Jianghai, told reporters that currently, 40% of the companies that have been recruited for the first phase of the Digital Jianghai Park project are from digital economy industries such as smart terminals and algorithm computing power, and 60% are R&D and production companies such as biomedicine and smart manufacturing.
Among them, Wutong Sensing Control Technology Co., Ltd. is a company that focuses on the research and development of robot mechanics and touch technology. It is also the first company in the Digital Jianghai Park to sign a contract to move into the "vertical factory", occupying 8 floors. Relying on the new industrial carrier space and supporting green energy storage design, Wutong Sensing Control will build a fully automated robot production line and strive to increase its production capacity to tens of millions of sensors per production line next year.
At the event, Digital Jianghai officially released the digital twin city system. It is reported that the system is based on the digital base, integrates and controls data of various equipment and facilities, business systems, etc., actively perceives scene changes and business trends, and combines the digital twin capabilities of the digital base for virtual and real interaction to achieve full-domain perception, real-time analysis, smart operation, and decision-making support for the park. Through the digital twin city system, Digital Jianghai will create a "cloud city" with visible data and a "physical city" composed of buildings on the ground and complex spaces underground in the park.
The relevant person in charge of Digital Jianghai said that as the first digital economy characteristic industrial park in Shanghai and even in the country to start DCMM standardization, Digital Jianghai has been carrying the important mission of promoting regional transformation and upgrading and achieving high-quality development since its construction. In the future, Digital Jianghai will build an industry-enabling high-performance public computing network with multi-point deployed edge computing nodes as the core, help enterprises achieve digital transformation, promote the deep integration of digital economy and real economy, and create a benchmark demonstration of urban digital transformation.
