Since its birth in 2004, the Shanghai University Student Drama Festival has become an important platform for cultivating drama audiences, emerging drama practitioners, and incubating original works. Its influence has gradually expanded from Shanghai to the whole country. More than 160 theater arts societies from more than 90 famous universities across the country participate in it. Every year, there are about 60 participating plays, and there are more than 20 finalists.
