"Team-building" has transformed into a new trend, and the green supply chain "organized" to participate in the Carbon Expo
On June 5, the second Shanghai International Carbon Neutral Technology, Products and Achievements Expo opened in Shanghai. The overall scale of this year's exhibition exceeds 100,000 square meters, with more than 600 domestic and foreign companies from 14 countries and regions participating.
Different from the first Carbon Expo, this Carbon Expo focuses more on “green supply chain”. From energy to processing and manufacturing to sales and logistics, it can be said that on-site carbon reduction technology has basically covered all links from the front to the end of the economy. According to the organizer of the Carbon Expo, this exhibition will focus on the topic of "green supply chain" and give full play to the leading role of chain owners to promote the overall green and low-carbon transformation of the supply chain.
Energy consumption is the fundamental cause of carbon emissions. At the second Carbon Expo, leading domestic and foreign energy companies displayed their latest achievements. There is a special "X-ray scanner" on the Shenner booth. By clicking the button on the screen, the "black technology" of a hydrogen energy heavy truck can be scanned out one by one. Booth personnel told reporters that the realization of green hydrogen energy for heavy-duty trucks cannot be separated from three key links: fuel cell stacks, battery systems and hydrogen storage equipment. At present, Shenergy's companies have achieved technological breakthroughs in key areas.
It is not difficult to see from Shenergy's low-carbon green transformation that the traditional energy industry, which used to be a "big producer" of carbon emissions, has become increasingly green in recent years. Taking traditional thermal power generation as an example, Huaneng Shanghai Shidongkou No. 2 Plant put into production a CO2 capture device as early as 2009, which can process 66,000 standard cubic meters of flue gas per hour. The product purity exceeds food-grade standards and has been operating stably for more than 10 years. In recent years, the CO2 capture system of Shanghai Shidongkou No. 2 Power Plant has undergone phase change transformation and built my country's first 120,000 tons/year phase change CO2 capture device. Through the operation test of the phase change solvent, the phase change type was verified. The phase separation performance and energy-saving effect of CO capture can significantly reduce regeneration heat consumption and capture costs.
In addition to carrying out their own energy transformation, many energy and chemical companies participating in the exhibition have also begun to empower the low-carbon transformation of the downstream industry chain. At BASF’s booth, you can see an environmentally friendly paper cup with a special craftsmanship. Contrary to common people's perceptions, traditional paper cups cannot be recycled. This is because the inner walls of paper cups are usually coated with a polyethylene film. Although this plastic film is waterproof, it cannot be recycled.

The new paper cup jointly developed by BASF and three downstream companies including Jinguang Paper uses a self-developed water-based coating, which makes the paper cup easy to break and can be directly sent to papermaking equipment for recycling. This has great implications for the recycling of paper resources. Significance. Staff at the site said that although paper cups look small, they are used in large quantities and cover a wide range. Comprehensive promotion of their recycling will help to use forest resources efficiently and reduce carbon emissions.
Of course, more "chain owner" companies are the end companies of the industrial chain. Yan Zhijun, a staff member of Shanghai Carbon Balance Technology, introduced to reporters a real case that the company has served. A clothing brand specializing in pet clothing hopes to introduce ecological concepts and change its market image, so it wants to create a completely zero-carbon product. In order to achieve true "zero carbon", this clothing brand will require its raw material suppliers and manufacturing OEMs to participate in the liquidation of carbon footprints and carry out carbon reduction measures. Maybe the clothing that the final customer gets is no different from ordinary products, but in fact, every step of this textile industry chain from raw material production, processing technology, distribution and transportation has undergone tremendous changes.
Zhu Yaming, partner in charge of energy and infrastructure consulting at Ernst & Young Greater China, told reporters that achieving the dual carbon goals requires joint efforts from both the energy supply and energy demand sides. “From the energy demand side, the industrial sector has a high proportion of carbon emissions, long process chains, and involves many industries. Among them, steel, non-ferrous metals and other industries are still highly dependent on fossil energy. Therefore, reducing carbon emissions in the industrial sector is crucial to reducing Overall carbon emissions are of great significance. "In addition, Zhu Yaming believes that with the help of cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions to improve energy efficiency and supply chain greening, low-carbon demand in the industrial sector will also be transmitted to the supply side, promoting green energy development and promoting the optimization of industrial structure. , which will have a more profound impact on the realization of the dual-carbon goal.
In the exhibition area of Lingang Group, a huge solar power generation cabin attracted the reporter's attention. This is the first time that Kuangbo Energy has exhibited a physical sample of its solar smart power generation cabin at the exhibition. According to Kuangbo Energy Business Director Lu Rong, this solar smart power generation cabin can be used in outdoor leisure, outdoor sales, residential areas in remote areas and other scenarios. The development of the solution has been completed and the product is expected to land in overseas markets in the future.
Interestingly, the parent company of Kuangbo Energy is not a manufacturing company, but a consulting company, Raytheon Consulting. Lu Rong said that as green consulting business has been carried out in more and more places in recent years, Raytheon Consulting has also begun to consider engaging in green solution services, so Kuangbo Energy was established.

It can be found from the Carbon Expo that there are currently not a few companies engaged in green consulting services, and more and more companies in carbon footprint, carbon accounting, carbon management and other subdivided fields have begun to participate in the exhibition, including many Shanghai companies. figure. Li Liang, general manager of the Municipal Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Center of Shangzi Group, said that Shanghai is currently building the "hard power" of industrial green transformation on the one hand, and is also actively building the "soft power" of the green and low-carbon service industry on the other. "Shanghai has gathered a large number of green service companies, and now more and more companies are working hard to integrate with international standards."
In addition to green consulting, green services also include green finance, green logistics and other industries. Another company at the Lingang Group booth, Box Sharing, is engaged in the green logistics industry. Its business model is to provide users with intelligent packaging recycling services to help users improve the recycling rate of packaging and enhance the intelligent management capabilities of logistics.
At the same time, through large-scale practice, circular packaging has also achieved cost reduction. Liao Qingxin, founder and CEO of Box Sharing, gave an example of the "Three Good Cycle Model": "A parts manufacturer that cooperates with Box Sharing has an annual revenue of approximately 2 billion yuan. In recent years, along with supply chain lean management and ESG, To manage demand, the proportion of recycled packaging has increased from 5% in 2020 to more than 50% in 2022, and 100% recycling replacement has been achieved in the Q1 quarter of 2024. This has reduced the company's annual packaging cost from the original 20 million to 1,200. Ten thousand yuan, a decrease of more than 40%, and at the same time, it also reduced the pollution and waste of millions of disposable packaging materials.”
Green service providers are accelerating the green transformation of more industries through their own technological innovation. Huang Zhifeng, deputy general manager of the Municipal Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Center of Shangzi Group, believes that the significance of the Carbon Expo is to provide a centralized display and communication platform for upstream and downstream enterprises in the carbon neutral industry chain, by displaying innovative product practices in various scenarios. Demonstrate and provide solutions with high authenticity, reliability and ease of operation for green and low-carbon development in all walks of life.
