Construction of the two main piers of the Chongqi Highway-Railway Yangtze River Bridge has begun
On June 5, 2024, the concrete pouring of the tower base and pre-cast section of the No. 3 and 4 main piers of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chongqing High-speed Railway Chongqi Highway-Rail Yangtze River Bridge completed by the China Railway Bridge Bureau marked the completion of the two main piers of the Chongqi Highway-Rail Yangtze River Bridge. The tower column construction phase has fully entered.
The Chongqi Highway-Railway Yangtze River Bridge is a control node project of the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei high-speed railway, with a total length of 4.09 kilometers, spanning the North Branch Channel of the Yangtze River Estuary. It is constructed as a double-layer road-rail bridge. The upper layer is a two-way six-lane first-class highway with a speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The lower layer is a double-line high-speed railway with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour and a double-line intercity railway with a speed of 250 kilometers per hour. Among them, the main navigation bridge has a main span of 400 meters, twin towers and double cable planes, steel truss combined beam cable-stayed bridge, and is the world's largest span, twin towers and double cable planes, ballastless track cable-stayed bridge for both road and rail.
The main towers No. 3 and 4 of the main bridge adopt the same structural layout. They are both vase-shaped concrete towers. They are composed of six parts: tower base, lower tower column, middle tower column, upper tower column, lower beam, and upper beam. The main tower is The height is 153 meters. The tower columns on both sides are poured in 27 times, with a total of 17,440.5 cubic meters of concrete for a single tower column. It is planned to complete the pouring of 116 meters of tower columns within this year.
After the completion of the project, a fast new channel will be built between the Shanghai metropolitan area, Nanjing metropolitan area and Hefei metropolitan area, which will help optimize the layout of the railway network along the Yangtze River, serve the coordinated development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and promote high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta. etc. are of great significance.
