On May 30, Starbucks also became a hot topic and sparked heated discussions. According to reports, "15 yuan off for purchases over 70 yuan", "three cups for 55.9", "two cups for 45.9"... There are many coupons in the Starbucks card holder of Xiaoqi, a post-90s generation, so that the unit price of coffee can easily exceed 30 yuan. As low as 20 yuan or so.
Starbucks, which has repeatedly stated that it has “no interest in engaging in a price war” and declared that it wants to take a high-end route, is now quietly adopting a “double-sided” attitude on prices. According to Starbucks' first quarter financial report for fiscal year 2024, as of December 31, 2023, global same-store sales increased by 5%, which was lower than the previous fiscal quarter and lower than analysts' expectations. As Starbucks' second largest market, Starbucks' average customer price in the Chinese market fell by 9%.
In this regard, Starbucks China Chairman and CEO Wang Jingying explained that the main reason for the decrease in unit price is the personalized discount promotions launched by Starbucks China to increase the frequency of consumer purchases. Weibo video of China Net Finance

"Wanda Bearing's high opening and high performance is in line with market expectations." Zhou Yunnan, founder of Beijing Nanshan Investment, told reporters that the halo of "920 first stock", the first new stock on the Beijing Stock Exchange in the past two months, and the high level of attention on new products Due to factors, Wanda Bearing performed like this on its first day of listing.
"Wanda Bearing has no tradable old shares, its own market value and circulating market value are small, and it is a rare new stock this year. The surge in its stock price on the first day of listing is also expected." Yu Wei, an expert from the Economic Development Working Committee of the China Well-off Construction Research Association, told reporter. He also reminded that we need to be wary of the risk of high valuations of new stocks after a sudden surge in stock prices and subsequent stock price corrections.
However, some investors are cautiously watching. “During the collective bidding stage in the morning, I considered placing an order, but then the increase was still expanding, so I was a little hesitant.” An NEEQ investor told reporters that he was worried about whether Wanda Bearing’s stock price would rise and fall. The "920 market" that the market expected did not come as promised. On the 30th, A-shares fluctuated and differentiated throughout the day, with the three major indexes collectively closing down, with the BSE 50 closing at 771.59 points, down 1.41%.

A clerk at a fresh food supermarket said that the current price of durians has reached the lowest price in history. Compared with the previous price of 40 yuan/jin, the sales volume in the store has now increased nearly 10 times. A durian merchant in the vegetable wholesale market said that durian prices will also rise. "Durians in eastern Thailand have gone down, but durians in southern Thailand cannot come out, and the out-of-stock period is coming soon." The merchant predicts that the price will rise to about 35 yuan/jin in two days. A durian wholesaler said that the durians currently on the market are basically imported from Thailand. It has been raining in Thailand and durians cannot be picked, so the price has begun to rise. When Vietnamese durians are launched, the price will drop to about 20 yuan/jin.
Why have the number of people suffering from pulmonary nodules increased in the past two years? Zhong Nanshan’s response
Currently, there are 150 million high-risk groups for pulmonary nodules in my country, and 10 to 20 million patients with pulmonary nodules are newly discovered or diagnosed every year. Early screening of pulmonary nodules is also the most common problem in clinical practice. In the past two years, many people have also discovered when doing CT scans that the proportion of pulmonary nodules found in themselves and those around them has also increased.
Why is there such a situation? Zhong Nanshan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering: There are two situations. The first is due to the new coronavirus. Many people have symptoms such as fever, cold, cough, etc., and many people do CT. The number of people doing CT has increased a lot. We now pay more attention to pulmonary nodules in physical examinations. Pulmonary nodules are of course a manifestation of early lung cancer, so more people are doing it.
Second, in fact, ordinary people and adults have large and small nodules. This situation is quite common. We made a statistics and found that about 30% to 40% of normal people have nodules of different sizes, ranging from two to three millimeters to one centimeter. This is very common. If we add artificial intelligence to CT, artificial intelligence can automatically distinguish large and small nodules. It is done using artificial intelligence methods, and 60% of them have nodules.
Academician Zhong Nanshan reminded that most nodules are benign, but the concern about pulmonary nodules cannot be ignored. It is more necessary to use scientific and effective diagnostic methods to improve public awareness and achieve "early diagnosis and early treatment" .
Some vocational schools use high commissions in exchange for teachers from private vocational schools who memorize enrollment quotas and receive commissions starting from 1,000 yuan
"If we recruit 10 students, we won't have to work for a whole year." Jiang Xing joined a private secondary vocational college in a coastal province last year as a teacher. At a recent enrollment mobilization meeting, school leaders called on all faculty and staff to participate in enrollment. The enrollment targets given to teachers like Jiang Xing were: to recruit at least two students every year, and the target for class teachers was to recruit at least 5 students. If you fail to meet the quota in the second year, your winter and summer vacation wages may be deducted."
Regarding the benefits for completing the enrollment quota, Jiang Xing found out that he would get a commission of 5,000 yuan for every student he recruited, and his monthly salary at this school was just over 4,000 yuan.
It's temptation and pressure. Chiang , if you help recruit a junior student, you will get a commission of 500 yuan. "If a well-connected teacher can recruit 10 students a year, it will be very profitable. But I always feel like something is wrong."
What Jiang Xing feels is "wrong" is that when teachers face high commissions, on one side they have objective guidance for further studies that students' parents expect, and on the other side they have enrollment targets linked to their own salaries. As for how the teacher will choose, no one can say. Behind the "very profitable" and "something is wrong" lies the fact that many private and some public secondary vocational colleges have been stuck in the dilemma of student recruitment for a long time.
