Why does Shanghai participate every year? , Expo held in Xinjiang
On June 26, the 8th China-Eurasia Expo opened in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Shanghai has participated in the Asia-Eurasia Expo for eight consecutive years, focusing on showcasing the results of Shanghai's counterpart assistance to Xinjiang.
The theme of the 8th China-Eurasia Expo is "New Opportunities on the Silk Road, New Vitality in Asia and Europe". The Expo will last for 5 days from June 26 to 30.
The 8th China-Eurasia Expo has an exhibition area of 140,000 square meters, with a total of 14 pavilions; there are investment and cooperation exhibition areas, international exhibition areas, and characteristic industry exhibition areas. The characteristic industry exhibition area covers energy and equipment manufacturing, digital technology, cultural tourism, grain and oil, green organic fruits and vegetables, high-quality livestock products, cotton and textiles. In addition, this year, the central enterprise pavilion, the specialized and new enterprise pavilion, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao region enterprise pavilion, and the Xinjiang "eight major industrial clusters" industrial chain leader enterprise pavilion were newly added.
At this expo, the Shanghai exhibition area was themed "Shanghai's love is unlimited and Xinjiang is prosperous", integrating the image of Shanghai and the results of its counterpart assistance to Xinjiang. Shanghai launched its counterpart assistance to Kashgar, Xinjiang in 2010. Since 2020, it has invested more than 2.8 billion yuan in Xinjiang each year. In the "14th Five-Year Plan" performance assessment, it is the only province and city among the 19 provinces and cities that assisted Xinjiang with "16" all excellent. In May this year, direct flights were realized between Shanghai and Kashgar for the first time, with six flights per week, which greatly shortened the distance between the two places and accelerated the two-way flow of people, goods and funds between the two places. Since 2015, Shanghai has also carried out counterpart assistance to Karamay, promoting local industrial development through talent input and cadre exchanges.
Shanghai Minlong Industrial Co., Ltd. is a Shanghai exhibitor at this expo. In 2010, Minlong Industrial began to participate in the counterpart assistance to Xinjiang, and built modern factories and multiple deep processing production lines in Zepu County and Shache County in Kashgar Prefecture, which were supported by Shanghai, with a total investment of 120 million yuan.
In October 2018, Xinjiang Xiaofeng Agriculture Innovation and Development Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shanghai Minlong Industrial Co., Ltd., was formally established. As an enterprise of Minlong Industrial Industry that settled in Shache County, Kashgar Prefecture, Xiaofeng Agriculture is also one of the exhibitors of this expo. In recent years, the company has focused on the deep processing of almond oil and walnut oil. At the same time, by purchasing specialty agricultural products, it has driven more than 20,000 local farmers to increase their income.
Dai Xiuhua, the person in charge of the Minlong Industrial booth, said that in December last year, Minlong Industrial's second factory in Zepu County was officially put into use, with 9 production lines. At present, the company has 3 factories and more than 200 SKUs in Zepu and Shache. Having participated in the counterpart assistance to Xinjiang for more than ten years, Minlong Industrial has continuously promoted product iteration and upgrading in recent years, and launched a series of deep-processed and high-value-added new products represented by high-end nut oil and quinoa, striving to change the long-standing impression of Xinjiang agricultural products as "extensive" in the minds of mainland consumers.
Dai Xiuhua said that as the only national and international comprehensive exhibition established in Xinjiang and aimed at Asian and European countries, the China-Eurasia Expo plays an increasingly important role in promoting economic and trade cooperation among Asian and European countries. For enterprises, it is not only a platform for display, but also an opportunity to further expand their "circle of friends". Enterprises are currently actively planning to go overseas, hoping to use the expo to seek partners and distributors to bring high-quality Xinjiang specialty agricultural products abroad.
