On June 26, a reporter from Justice.com learned from the Supreme People's Procuratorate that the case of Wang Shan, former deputy director of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, suspected of bribery, was recently concluded by the Liaoning Provincial Supervision Commission and transferred to the procuratorate for review and prosecution. The Liaoning Provincial People's Procuratorate designated jurisdiction and the Dandong Municipal People's Procuratorate filed a public prosecution with the Dandong Municipal Intermediate People's Court in accordance with the law.
During the prosecution review stage, the procuratorate informed the defendant Wang Shan of his litigation rights in accordance with the law, interrogated the defendant in accordance with the law, and listened to the opinions of the defense lawyer. The Dandong People's Procuratorate filed an indictment alleging that from 1998 to 2014, the defendant Wang Shan used his positions as Minister of the Organization Department of the Panjin Municipal Party Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Panjin Municipal Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Liaoning University, Deputy Minister of the United Front Work Department of the Provincial Party Committee, and Deputy Director of the Working Committee of the Provincial CPPCC Members to seek benefits for others in job adjustments, business operations, project contracting, etc., and illegally accepted property from others in huge amounts. According to the law, he should be held criminally responsible for the crime of accepting bribes.
According to the public resume, Wang Shan, male, Han nationality, was born in Beipiao City, Liaoning Province in January 1955. He started working in 1972 and joined the Communist Party of China in 1974. He has an on-the-job postgraduate degree, a master's degree and is a researcher. He once served as deputy minister of the United Front Work Department of the Liaoning Provincial Committee and deputy director of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the CPPCC.
According to the website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission on May 24, 2024, Wang Shan was expelled from the party for serious violations of discipline and law. Justice.cn reporters noted that this was the first official disclosure that Wang Shan had been investigated.
The notice stated that Wang Shan had lost his ideals and beliefs, betrayed his original aspiration and mission, was disloyal and dishonest to the Party, colluded with others to give false testimony and destroyed evidence, and resisted organizational review; he violated organizational principles, failed to report personal matters in accordance with regulations, did not truthfully explain the problems when the organization inquired, and sought benefits for others in the selection and appointment of cadres and the recruitment of employees; he accepted gifts and money in violation of regulations, and borrowed real estate from those under his management and service in violation of regulations; he breached the bottom line of discipline and law, used his position to seek benefits for others in promotion and business operations, and illegally accepted property.
Wang Shan seriously violated the Party's political discipline, organizational discipline, integrity discipline, and life discipline, which constituted a serious official violation and was suspected of bribery. He did not restrain himself or stop after the 18th National Congress of the Party. The nature was serious and the impact was bad, and he should be punished. Take it seriously. In accordance with the "Disciplinary Punishment Regulations of the Communist Party of China", the Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China, the Law of the People's Republic of China on Administrative Punishment for Public Servants, and other relevant provisions, after study by the Standing Committee of the Liaoning Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and approval by the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee, it was decided to expel Wang Shan from the party Punishment; cancel the treatment he enjoys in accordance with regulations; confiscate his illegal income; transfer his suspected criminal issues to the procuratorate for review and prosecution in accordance with the law, and transfer the property involved.
