Preparation for track laying, completion of the internal structural engineering of the 2nd section tunnel of the Shanghai Municipal Railway Airport Connection Line
On September 12, 2023, engineering personnel conducted an inspection inside the tunnel.
With the completion of the construction of the inner cushion layer of the track board, the internal structural engineering of the 2nd section tunnel of the Shanghai Regional Railway Airport Connection Line, which was invested and constructed by Shanghai Shentie, commissioned by Shanghai Donghua Local Railway Development Co., Ltd., and undertaken by China Railway 14th Bureau, has been completed. At present, the post station track laying unit has been successfully handed over, laying the foundation for the smooth opening of the project.
It is reported that after the completion and opening of the Shanghai Airport Connection Line project, passenger travel between the two major comprehensive transportation hubs of Hongqiao and Pudong has been reduced from 90 minutes to 40 minutes. At the same time, it will further enhance the radiation effect of Pudong and Hongqiao comprehensive transportation hubs on the Yangtze River Delta region, serve the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, and provide strong support for improving Shanghai's global urban level and core competitiveness, and implementing the national strategy of integrated development in the Yangtze River Delta.
The internal structural engineering of the 2nd section tunnel of the Shanghai Municipal Railway Airport Connection Line has been completed and is about to be laid.
According to Chen Chen, the chief engineer of the project, in order to ensure the high-quality completion of the internal structure construction of the shield tunnel, the construction team timely optimized the construction plan and adjusted the construction process. They adopted a construction method from the middle of the tunnel to both ends, increased the pouring working face, and set up concrete feeding pipes on both sides, increased concrete transportation vehicles, and ensured continuous concrete feeding and pouring.
The internal structure of the Shanghai Airport connecting line tunnel includes the construction of the middle partition wall, cable tray, and track cushion layer. During the process, it faces difficulties such as high precision control requirements for assembly and narrow width of single-sided channels.
It is reported that for the first time in China, prefabricated assembly is used for the middle partition wall, with a single block weight of 21 tons, requiring high installation accuracy and difficult assembly. The tunnel is designed with a single hole and double tracks. After the construction of the middle partition wall is completed, the width of the single side passage is only 3.8 meters, which cannot meet the needs of transportation vehicles turning around and passing, resulting in a narrow site. In addition, there are many internal construction processes in the tunnel, resulting in cross operations and difficulties in material transportation. The project optimizes the construction process, strengthens the process connection, and prioritizes ensuring the supply of key route materials.
The project, in collaboration with China Railway Construction Heavy Industry, has developed the first set of integrated intelligent assembly equipment for central partition walls in China, achieving one click automatic grabbing of prefabricated components, high-precision intelligent assembly, and synchronous and automated installation of top connectors. This has created a record for the fastest assembly of central partition walls along the entire line, with a maximum monthly assembly footage of 1200 meters. At the same time, the assembly accuracy has been improved in one go, greatly shortening the subsequent construction period. In response to the problem of irregular cable tray construction, the project actively communicated with template manufacturers to optimize template configuration and achieve one-time molding of cable tray pouring.
After the successful completion of the shield tunnel, the project construction team worked hard and efficiently completed the subsequent dismantling work in 35 days. With precise and meticulous construction planning, scientific and reasonable management measures, and safe and rigorous construction control, they fully promoted the construction of the project, becoming the first section of the entire line to complete the transfer of internal sections of the shield tunnel.
It is understood that during the peak period, there are a total of four working faces pouring simultaneously on the left and right sides of the tunnel to ensure the smooth completion of the internal structure construction.
