Shanghai East China received orders worth 20 billion yuan in the first half of the year, with 15500 containers delivered as the first container ship
On June 26, the first ship "Maersk Charleston" of the 15500 TEUs large container ship project built by Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Group, for the Canadian SEASPAN Company, was named and delivered at China Shipbuilding Changxing Shipbuilding Base 66 days earlier than the contract period. So far, Shanghai, East and China have delivered a total of 9 ships in the first half of this year, with new orders exceeding 20 billion yuan, 56% and 72% of the annual plan respectively.
"Maersk Charleston" is independently developed, designed and built by Hudong Zhonghua, with completely independent intellectual property rights, and is classified as DNV Classification Society. The ship is 366 meters long, 51 meters wide and 30.2 meters deep, with a service speed of 22.0 knots. Its container capacity reaches 15516 standard boxes, and 1733 cold box sockets are set up, which can load 1400 cold boxes at the same time. The number of cargo tanks and deck stacking boxes reaches 22, and the height from the bottom of the ship to the upper building is equivalent to 24 floors, and it has the ability to sail unrestricted around the world.
The main engine and generator of the ship are equipped with the most advanced hybrid desulfurization devices, and the main engine and generator are also equipped with exhaust gas recirculation systems and nitrogen removal devices, respectively. Compared with the same type of container ship, the fuel consumption index has significantly decreased, achieving the best green environmental protection performance of conventional power ships at present, and fully meeting the latest requirements of the International Maritime Organization for nitrogen oxide and sulfur oxide emissions.
During the construction process, Hudong Zhonghua vigorously promoted new processes and technologies, using information construction methods such as "digital test boxes" to continuously break through production bottlenecks and achieve quality and efficiency improvement. The dock cycle was only 4 months, and the final delivery was named 66 days ahead of schedule.
It is reported that the "Maersk Charleston" ship will be leased by Maersk Line and is scheduled to open its maiden voyage from Asia to the United States on June 27.
