After nearly five hours of collection, Xiaolin from Zhongshan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University successfully completed the donation of hematopoietic stem cells. Since then, Xiaolin has become the 594th successful donor of hematopoietic stem cells in Shanghai since 1996, and the 5th donor of hematopoietic stem cells at Zhongshan Hospital.
Xiaolin was born in 1999 and is a newly hired nurse in the Intensive Care Department of Zhongshan Hospital this year. Since 2019, he has been persistently donating blood without compensation for a long time. From donating whole blood every six months to insisting on donating component blood every two weeks, a total of 25 blood donations were made over four years.

In 2021, after seeing the recruitment of hematopoietic stem cell volunteers at school, Xiaolin immediately registered as a volunteer for the China Bone Marrow Bank. After learning that he had successfully matched a patient for the first time, he did not hesitate to agree to donate and actively cooperated to complete high-resolution matching and physical examination.
At first, Xiaolin's parents were worried about his son's health and did not support this decision. Before signing the informed consent form, Kobayashi used his professional knowledge to persuade his parents: for healthy individuals, donating hematopoietic stem cells will not affect their physical health; But for patients with blood diseases, it is a hope for regaining life and health.
After entering Zhongshan Hospital and becoming a critically ill nurse, Xiaolin often had to go through a life and death game. "Studying medicine to save people has been my ideal since I was young. This time, donating hematopoietic stem cells can help others to the best of my ability and give me a sense of achievement." As a medical worker, he is even more aware that the success rate of non blood related hematopoietic stem cell typing is extremely low, and being able to type successfully is a rare fate and a heavy responsibility.
As a child of a farmer, Xiaolin candidly admitted that he grew up eating from a hundred families and wearing a hundred family clothes. From childhood to adulthood, he received care and help from family, teachers, classmates, and society. Now, he has the opportunity to give back to society and pass on this love, which is very fortunate. It is reported that in the same year as deciding to donate hematopoietic stem cells, Kobayashi also signed the "Voluntary Letter for Human Organ Donation".
