The 13th Karakoram Fair opened grandly, opening a new chapter in the Silk Road Economic Belt; the Silk Road Kashgar; Aid Xinjiang
The 13th Kashgar, Xinjiang, China Central Asia and South Asia Commodity Fair and the First Xinjiang Exhibition of the China International Cultural Industry Expo and Trade Fair opened grandly on June 21 at the Kashgar International Convention and Exhibition Center, with 577 enterprises participating, including 32 Shanghai enterprises.
Kashgar, as an important town on the ancient Silk Road, has always been a gathering place for economic and cultural exchanges between the East and the West, with a geographical advantage of "connecting eight countries with five ports and connecting Europe and Asia along the way.". In the context of the "the Belt and Road Initiative", the holding of this year's "Kashgar Fair" provides a win-win platform for neighboring countries with Kashgar as the center to carry out multilateral trade. Kashgar, as an important pivot of the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt and an important node of the southern corridor, is also the starting city of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor. It has strong economic complementarity with neighboring countries, and has the advantages of a new round of Kashgar Economic Development Zone, Comprehensive Bonded Zone, cross-border e-commerce, and targeted assistance to Xinjiang. It has unique conditions for developing foreign trade, deepening westward opening up, and foreign exchange and cooperation.
Since 2005, the Kashgar region has held 12 consecutive "Kashgar Trade Fair", attracting government delegations from around the world, various large and medium-sized enterprises, and economic and trade groups to visit Kashgar for inspection, cooperation, investment, and development. The Kashgar Economic and Trade Fair has become the second largest economic and trade event in Xinjiang.
The theme of this year's "Kashgar Fair" is "Gathering in Kashgar, Opening a New Chapter of the Silk Road Economic Belt", which is divided into offline exhibitions and online exhibitions. Both indoor and outdoor exhibition areas are 20000 square meters, with 575 indoor booths and 142 outdoor booths. A total of 577 foreign and domestic enterprises from 19 countries and regions participated in the exhibition. During the exhibition, activities such as exhibition displays, main forums, sub forums, investment promotion conferences and centralized signing of economic and trade negotiation projects, trade and investment promotion activities, and food exhibitions will be held.
As one of the four provinces and cities that provide targeted support to Kashgar, Shanghai actively organizes enterprises to participate in the Kashgar Fair. The Front Command of Shanghai's Counterpart Support for Xinjiang stated that organizing a delegation to participate in the Kazakh Economic and Trade Fair is an important measure for Shanghai to carry out Shanghai Kazakh economic and trade cooperation. Throughout the Kazakh Economic and Trade Fair, Shanghai has organized a strong lineup to participate in exhibitions, showcasing the achievements of Shanghai's economic and social development, and supporting Shanghai enterprises to expand markets and invest in Xinjiang. This year, the Shanghai Aid to Xinjiang Front Command has carefully organized and linked the front and back, inviting a total of 32 Shanghai exhibitors, involving 50 booths.
There are three main characteristics of these exhibiting companies in Shanghai: the first is that they are "old". Some are old customers of the Kashgar Fair, such as Kaikai Group and Minlong Industry, which have participated in multiple sessions consecutively, while others are time-honored brands. For example, Jiubai Group has invited its three Chinese time-honored brands, "Xiqu Laodafang", "Sanyangsheng", and "Zhengzhang", as well as "Baiyulan" Shanghai time-honored brands. Permanent bicycles are also well-known old brands.
The second characteristic is "new", focusing on the development direction of Kashgar's industry, and inviting a group of new technology and materials companies such as Wandi Digital, Yaohua Weighing, and Chenman Technology. Pudong Development Bank implements the concept of "financial aid to Xinjiang" and launches new financial services around Kashgar's westward opening and free trade zone construction.
The third characteristic is "strong". Mitsubishi Elevator is one of the top 500 mechanical manufacturing companies in China, and companies such as Yilian, Senma, Shuangou, and Shuimian Ecological are also textile and clothing enterprises with strong capabilities. The enterprises assisting Xinjiang are also the main force of this "enterprise corps".

Recently, during the inspection of the Xinjiang Party and government delegation in Shanghai, Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng emphasized the need to further focus on mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, promote Shanghai Xinjiang cooperation to a new level, and closely combine Shanghai's financial and technological advantages with Xinjiang's resource and location advantages, so as to empower and promote high-quality development in both regions. The Shanghai Frontline Command for Aid to Xinjiang stated that it will conscientiously implement the instructions and requirements of the party committees and governments of the two regions, take the opportunity of hosting the Kazakhstani Fair well, focus on the effectiveness of exhibitions, strengthen follow-up tracking, and guide more high-quality Shanghai enterprises to participate in supporting the development of Xinjiang.
