Today, the diving competition of the Fukuoka World Swimming Championships is half way to the the fourth day. In the seven individual events that have been held, the athletes of the Chinese diving "Dream Team" have lived up to the expectations, including all seven gold medals.
In the men's synchronized 10 meter platform final, defending champions Yang Hao/Lian Junjie performed exceptionally well and won the championship with a score of 477.75. On the 22nd, Yang Hao and Lian Junjie will compete in the men's 10 meter platform event.
In the previous women's synchronized 3m springboard final, Chen Yiwen/Chang Yani won the championship with an absolute advantage.
Two Chinese girls demonstrated superb technical skills and stable psychological qualities in the final, playing perfectly and flawlessly. Their total score was 341.94 points, surpassing the second placed British group by 45.36 points. In this way, the Chinese diving team successfully achieved 13 consecutive World Championships in this event.
After the end of the Tokyo Olympics, 24-year-old Chen Yiwen and 21-year-old Chang Yani were the successors of the Chinese diving team in the women's springboard event after the retirement of Shi Tingmao and Wang Han. They won the gold medal in the women's synchronized 3m springboard event at the previous Budapest World Championships. This time in Fukuoka, they lived up to their mission and successfully defended their title.
Chen Yiwen and Chang Yani won the gold medal in the women's synchronized 3m springboard event, which was also the 13th championship for the Chinese team in this event at the World Championships. Since the establishment of the doubles event at the 1998 World Championships, the Chinese team has only failed to win the women's doubles 3m springboard for the first time, and the championship was won by Russia's Pakarina and Lashko. Since the last Fukuoka World Championships in 2001, there has been no neglect of gold medals. Guo Jingjing has won five consecutive championships from 2001 to 2009, partnering with Li Ting and Wu Minxia, followed by Wu Minxia, He Zi, Shi Tingmao, and Wang Han. Now, she has passed on this glorious tradition and relay baton to Chen Yiwen and Chang Yani.
