The reporter learned from the Shanghai police that the incident occurred on September 12th. Students who were feeling unwell were all discharged from the hospital that night after receiving medical treatment, and normal classes have now resumed. After preliminary investigation, it was found that the incident was caused by two students pouring a mixture of cleaning and bleaching agents into the cups of their classmates.
According to the police report, at 15:37 on September 12, 2023, the Pudong Public Security Bureau received a report stating that several students at a middle school on Xianan Road were feeling unwell.
After preliminary investigation, student Yang and classmate Zheng returned to the classroom during physical education class on the morning of the same day and poured a mixture with cleaning and bleaching effects into the water cups of their classmates, causing several students to experience discomfort symptoms.
The relevant students were sent to the hospital for treatment and were discharged that night. Normal classes have now resumed. At present, the police are conducting further investigations in conjunction with the education department.
