Lao Liu, a resident of Zhongxin Road Community, Jiuting Town, Songjiang District, said happily that there was no water leakage at home in the typhoon days this year.
It is understood that for many years, many residential areas in Jiuting Town have experienced frequent problems such as water seepage, dripping, and ingress due to their long construction period and aging facilities and equipment. In order to solve the urgent needs and anxieties of residents, the Party Committee and Government of Jiuting Town are determined to help old communities such as Tingxin solve the "three water" problems, namely drip, seepage, and inflow, and create a happy community life circle under the guidance of Party building.
"There are 50 early built houses in Zhongxin Road Community. These houses are built in low terrain, which will cause water inflow and ponding in residents' homes in rainstorm and typhoon days, which will have a great impact on residents' lives." Hu Junshan, secretary of the Party branch of Tingxin residential area, told reporters that by inviting residents' representatives of the small area to participate in the meeting as "people's observers" in advance, to survey and discuss low-lying areas of the community to form a plan, and then to come up with a feasible plan, so that residents can participate in the whole process.
"Every time a rainstorm or typhoon comes, the wall will fall off, and the water pipe is often damaged. Sometimes, the water will stop in the middle of the bath," said the resident representative.
"There is always inexplicably water seepage everywhere inside the house, the walls are blistered, and multiple water stains are left on the floor." Some residents also said that on rainy days, they can only use large pots and small buckets first to avoid safety hazards.
In addition to inviting residents to participate and listening to their opinions, Jiuting Town also invites professional departments to inspect and identify the causes of dripping, seepage, and water ingress in the old community. "We found that due to the aging of the residential area and the settlement of the houses, wall cracks are likely to occur. If the rain penetrates into the wall in rainstorm weather, it will lead to mildew on the wall and a large area of wall peeling off."
After the functional departments in Jiuting Town conducted a thorough investigation of the dripping areas in the community, it was found that not only were water seepage problems caused by aging walls, but also problems such as damage to air conditioning drainage pipes and high-rise water pressure.
Under the leadership of the community neighborhood committee, invite town functional departments, resident representatives, building leaders, and property representatives to attend a joint meeting and come up with a package of solutions: improving the waterproofing facilities of the community, renovating low-lying areas, renovating walls, and solving water seepage and accumulation problems; Discuss and propose solutions for damaged air conditioning drainage pipes related to residential buildings; Distribute a notice to households with dripping water, requesting self replacement and repair. If unable to resolve the issue on their own, the property management will repair it on their behalf to completely solve the problem of dripping water on the external unit of the air conditioner.
