New developments in Sichuan North Road business district! Shanghai Swan Hotel comprehensive renovation project starts
On June 13, the comprehensive renovation project of Shanghai Swan Hotel officially started. This is another major project launched in the three-year action plan for the improvement and development of Sichuan North Road in Hongkou District, following the 176 Neighborhood Urban Renewal Project, Delin Apartment Renewal Project, and Duolun Road Urban Renewal Project.
Swan Hotel is located at No. 2211, Sichuan North Road, Hongkou District. It opened in June 1987. Formerly known as Shanghai Swan Xinyi Hotel, it is 18 stories high and is one of the first batch of three-star hotels for foreigners in Shanghai. The hotel is located in the Sichuan North Road business district, close to Luxun Park, Hongkou Football Stadium, Hongkou Capital Dragon Dream Commercial Plaza, Huangdu Road Street, Duolun Road Cultural Celebrity Street, Li Bai Martyr's Former Residence, Tianai Road, and can be directly reached by Metro Line 3, Line 8 and Pudong Airport Line 4. It has a superior geographical location and convenient transportation.
Li Peng, secretary of the Party Working Committee of Sichuan North Road Subdistrict, told reporters that many Hongkou residents have deep memories and feelings for the Swan Hotel. Currently, hotels at the northern end of Sichuan North Road are relatively scarce. After the renovation, the Shanghai Swan Hotel will not only integrate with the Shanyin Road Scenic Area, but also improve and enhance the industry, function and work-residence balance of the relevant area.
The comprehensive renovation of Swan Hotel is positioned to create a new business boutique hotel with a total construction area of 14,511.7 square meters and an estimated investment of more than 95 million yuan. It includes the main building, podium and underground space. By integrating regional red culture, Shanghai culture, celebrity culture, military culture, etc., the renovation focuses on the dialogue of "literary charm, exquisiteness, and taste", reinterpreting the traditional hotel space form, and using multi-level design to create spatial texture, create rich and fashionable visual art, and give guests a sense of belonging.
Shanghai Swan Hotel is an asset of Shanghai Juntong Blue Sky Hotel Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Rongtong Tourism Development Group Co., Ltd. Liu Sheng, general manager of Shanghai Juntong Blue Sky Hotel Co., Ltd., introduced that the comprehensive renovation project of Swan Hotel will plan to renovate 181 guest rooms, and provide supporting facilities such as restaurants, conference rooms, and gyms. It will retain some historical imprints as the first three-star hotel in Hongkou District, tell the hotel story well, and provide business and holiday tourists with comfortable rest space, comfortable experience environment, high-quality standard services, green environmental protection concepts and unique designs, and strive to create a characteristic urban renewal project with regional historical and cultural features and a landmark for the integrated development of business, travel, culture and sports. The renovation is expected to be completed in 6 months.
It is reported that Hongkou District is strengthening the construction of the "five centers" around Shanghai, accelerating the implementation of the three-year action plan to improve and develop Sichuan North Road through innovation, insisting on planning leadership, focusing on regional coordination, strengthening system integration, grasping project promotion, and innovating mechanisms and models. It will promote regional functions and industrial upgrading through urban renewal, combine the regional commercial, travel, cultural and sports space layout with consumer function elements, and comprehensively promote the overall renewal of the Sichuan North Road business district, so as to improve the quality of the living environment, optimize public space facilities, reshape the charm of historical features, and recreate commercial and business vitality.
