Recently, when you walk into the Shanghai Oil Painting and Sculpture Institute Art Museum, you will be overwhelmed by the childlike fun. The seventh "Chu Mang Project - Shanghai Children's Excellent Art Works Exhibition" officially opened at the Shanghai Oil Painting and Sculpture Institute Art Museum and will be on display until June 30.
"Chu Mang Project - Shanghai Children's Outstanding Art Works Exhibition" is an annual children's art exhibition hosted by the Shanghai Oil Painting and Sculpture Institute. It aims to provide a platform for children to display their artistic talents, encourage them to express themselves through art, explore the world, and cultivate Aesthetic ability and creativity.
Since its launch in 2018, in the past seven years, the "Chumang Project" has become an important platform in the field of children's art education, attracting countless children to showcase their artistic talents.
The seventh "Chu Mang Project" is co-sponsored by Shanghai Oil Painting and Sculpture Institute and Shanghai Chuxinwei Charity Foundation. The number of submissions and selections for this year's "Chu Mang Project" has increased compared with previous years, and the artistic quality has also been further improved. This year, a total of 2,276 works were received from all over the country, and 130 works finally stood out and were selected to participate in the exhibition. These works not only demonstrate children's creativity and imagination, but also reflect their observations of life and understanding of the world.
"Chumang Project" adheres to the "child-centered" concept, and the selection process is rigorous and professional. Based on the children's age characteristics and social characteristics, the judging panel will divide the candidates into infant groups, children's groups, and juvenile groups to ensure fairness and impartiality in the selection. The exhibition emphasizes the creativity, artistry and integrity of children's art, abandons stylized works, and encourages children to express their true selves through art based on the life around them.
The works in this exhibition cover various art forms such as painting, sculpture, ceramics, handicrafts, comprehensive materials, videos, animations, etc., showing children's understanding of traditional culture and exploration of modern technology.
It is worth mentioning that this year's "Chumang Project" continues the previous exhibition method of lowering the visual center line height of the displayed works to 1.35 meters. This not only allows the children's works to be fully respected, but also allows visitors to appreciate art from the children's perspective and better experience the children's world.
In addition, in order to allow special children to share art, this year's exhibition has set up a special unit to exhibit 15 works of art created by special children, reflecting the unique power of art in perceiving the world, expressing emotions, and healing the soul.
