June 8 is the "Cultural and Natural Heritage Day". With these questions in mind, nearly 60 groups of parents and children participated in the "2024 Trace Minhang" Urban Archeology Orientation Challenge, based on the urban cultural micro-travel trail, connecting Puhuitang Bridge, Qibao Tea House and Bookstore, Cricket Thatched Cottage, No. 7 Bridge Fortress and many other locations.
The Urban Archeology Orienteering Challenge starts from the Bell Tower Square of Qibao Ancient Town. Parents and children first check in the national intangible cultural heritage representative project "Maqiao Hand Lion Dance", which shows the unique charm of Jiangnan water town culture.

The "Archaeology" team members unlocked nine mysterious levels, including bell tower ringing, Shanghai gossip quizzes, and intangible cultural heritage handicrafts, and played with rich content such as checking in cultural relics and buildings, viewing cultural museum exhibitions, and experiencing intangible cultural heritage projects. Parents and children came to Puhuitang Bridge to become "bridge builders" and learn about the story behind this large stone bridge built during the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty.
In the 13th year of Zhengde, Puhuitang Bridge was built. Also known as the "Qibaotang Bridge", the main body is made of granite and runs north-south across Puhuitang. In 1996, it was announced as a cultural relic protection unit in Minhang District.

Families with children came to the Qibao Tea House Bookstore, sipped a pot of tea, listened to a Pingtan song, and completed the Shanghai gossip knowledge question and answer session.
The Qibao Teahouse and Bookstore was built during the Republic of China. There were many bookstores in the teahouse, which mainly sang Pingtan and Pinghua. There were also local artists who talked about Shanghai calligraphy, gongs and drums, and sang Tanhuang, etc., which were very popular among tea drinkers. In 2016, it was announced as a cultural relic protection site in Minhang District.

Check out the "Qibao Wall". According to legend since ancient times, the folk saying that "there are seven treasures among the seven treasures" refers to the Golden Lotus Sutra, the Flying Buddha, the Ji Lai Bell, the catalpa tree, the golden rooster, the jade chopsticks, and the jade axe.
Qibao's cricket culture occupies a place in Chinese cricket culture. Qibao cricket was first recorded in "Puxi Xiaozhi·Customs" during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty.
The Cricket Cottage is composed of a front hall garden and a back hall main platform. It is an ancient building that integrates cricket competitions and displays of ancient and modern insect tools.

The inner hall of the thatched cottage displays cricket pots, bamboo tubes, cricket specimens and other utensils of various sizes.
The oldest applicant among the "Archaeology" team members is an old man who came all the way from Yangpu District. He said: "The location of the No. 7 Bridge Bunker impressed me most. The revolutionary martyrs used their blood and lives for us. In exchange for today’s happy life, the past history cannot be forgotten. This event can allow the new generation of young people to have a deeper understanding of history.”
There was no shortage of loyal fans of "Looking for Minhang" at the scene. Chen Zimo, a fourth-grade primary school student who participated in the activity for the third time, said: "I finally got a spot. I like this kind of learning outside the classroom very much, it is very down-to-earth!"

The former site of the July 1st People's Commune is known locally as the "Old Commune". On September 21, 1958, the July 1st People's Commune was proclaimed. In August 2009, it was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Minhang District.
The Puhuitang Bridge where Caobao Road crosses the ancient river channel Puhuitang was called No. 7 Bridge more than 70 years ago. Here, during the Anti-Japanese War, the anti-Japanese armed forces fought to annihilate the enemy and puppet troops. During the Liberation War, there were fierce battles between the People's Liberation Army and the Kuomintang defenders on their way to Shanghai. 75 years ago, the People's Liberation Army fought fiercely here for three days and nights, opening the western gate to the liberation of Shanghai. On April 4, 2014, it was approved and announced as a cultural relic protection unit in Shanghai by the Shanghai Municipal Government.
