Today marks the 92nd anniversary of the outbreak of the September 18 Incident. At 9:18 am, representatives from all sectors of society gathered at the Victory Square of the Shanghai Songhu Anti Japanese War Memorial Hall to solemnly push the hammer and sound 14 "warning bells" at this special moment full of commemorative significance. The sound of bells echoes in the air, symbolizing the arduous and remarkable 14 year history of the Anti Japanese War, and expressing the sorrow of today's people to pay tribute to the martyrs and mourn their compatriots.
Remembering history
On September 18, 1931, the Japanese army self destructed the Liutiaohu section of the South Manchuria Railway, falsely accusing the Chinese army of its actions, and subsequently shelled Beidaying, leading to the outbreak of the September 18 Incident. The September 18 Incident marked the first shot in China's fourteen year resistance war and opened the prelude to the world's anti fascist war. In the arduous and arduous War of Resistance Against Japan, the Chinese military and civilians united as one, fought bravely with great national sacrifice, won the victory of the war, and achieved national independence and liberation.

September 18th is a day that every Chinese person should remember. Only by remembering history and understanding the past can we better advance towards the future. Accompanied by the magnificent national anthem ceremony, school teachers and students, community residents, and representatives from various sectors of society from enterprises and institutions presented flowers to the martyrs of the Anti Japanese War in front of the Unknown Heroes Monument, jointly commemorating the heroic martyrs and unfortunate compatriots who sacrificed their lives in the fourteen year Anti Japanese War.
