A larger scale art terrace project is being prepared, with the "most beautiful terrace on the Bund" becoming a public art venue
During the "Bund Art Season" in May this year, the public art project "Tiantai Art Season" at Fosun Art Center was once again launched on the fourth floor rooftop. Artist Zhou Yilun's new large-scale themed sculpture "What makes today's life so different" is composed of a 2.3 meter high and 2.6 meter wide swing device and a series of animal shaped recliner sculptures, forming a mini aerial park. It creates a "modern illusion" where large animal landscapes intersect with the modern urban skyline, leading the audience to experience stunning experiences through repeated aerial swings and exploring more possibilities for deep dialogue between art and life.
The Fosun Art Center is adjacent to the Huangpu River and faces the landmark building of Lujiazui in Pudong across the river. On the rooftop, the beautiful scenery of the Pujiang River is fully visible. During the 2021 Fosun Art Center Public Art Year, Fosun launched the "rooftop art season", inviting artists to create and showcase public art works, transforming this site known as the "most beautiful terrace on the Bund" into a thought-provoking public art field.
According to the introduction of Fosun Art Center, the Tiantai Art Season follows the concept of artistic life, does not create so-called elite art, but establishes an ideal social life in the name of art, attracts more public to approach and understand public art, and explores the profound significance of public art in shaping urban spirit.

The projects such as "Hypercube" and "Continuous Breathing" exhibited on the rooftop have been widely popular since their launch. Some people come specifically to admire the scenery of the Bund, while others unexpectedly encounter art while enjoying the scenery and reap surprises. "The rooftop art season has become our brand project and a bright spot along the Bund's riverside scenery," said Wang Jinyuan. "After Huangpu District starts the construction of the 'Art Bund', more iconic terraces on the Bund are expected to join and work together to create a larger scale art terrace plan.".
Multiple collaborations not only mean expanding the space, but also provide greater imagination for the project to expand in various aspects. Originally, there were only a few hundred square meters of single terraces, with installation sculpture exhibitions as the main focus. After the addition of more first tier river view terraces, various units can jointly hold exhibitions with the same theme, and can also create projects such as terrace coffee, yoga, exhibitions, carnivals, etc., combined with commercial elements, making it not only attractive to art enthusiasts, but also a good place for citizens and tourists to enjoy and explore.
"With sufficient space carriers and multiple resources, we can create a city level art brand on the Bund," said Wang Jinyuan. "This is something that a single art institution cannot do.".

It is reported that in recent months, Fosun Art Center, as the convener of the Art Bund Art Cultivation Committee, has repeatedly held meetings with multiple units such as the Bund Art Museum, Contemporary Art Museum, and Dongyi Art Museum to jointly plan and discuss the Bund Art Terrace project. Wang Jinyuan introduced that Fosun Art Center has been open on the Bund for seven years, and has a good understanding of the Bund's art ecology. It has also held many high-quality and high standard exhibition projects, which have a certain influence and strong ability to plan art projects and integrate cross-border resources. The construction of the Art Bund provides Fosun with an opportunity to leverage its advantages.
She said that the formation of market entities requires multiple repeated efforts and coordination, which requires the government to take the lead and integrate resources. "The Huangpu District government has a very keen vision and sees the possibility of further expanding the 'cake'. Now, various institutional units have more opportunities to sit together, jointly plan projects, and establish the brand of the Art Bund.".
