The Shanghai Municipal People's Government and China South to North Water Diversion Group signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Shanghai today. Gong Zheng, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, met with Jiang Xuguang, Chairman of the South to North Water Diversion Group, and jointly witnessed the signing of the contract.
Gong Zheng introduced the economic and social development situation in Shanghai, saying that Shanghai is adjacent to the river and sea, and is born and prospered by water. At the signing ceremony, Vice Mayor Zhang Xiaohong and Deputy General Manager of South to North Water Diversion Group Yu Hequn signed the contract on behalf of both parties. According to the agreement, both parties will jointly build the network system of water conservancy infrastructure in Shanghai, extensively carry out market-oriented cooperation in water security system, collaborate to promote ecological protection and green low-carbon development, deepen water culture brand construction and cultural tourism cooperation.
China South to North Water Diversion Group is the only state-owned enterprise platform in China's water conservancy industry, established in 2020. Its main responsibilities focus on the construction and operation of the South to North Water Diversion Project, accelerating the construction of the national water network, and strengthening and optimizing the water industry chain system.
