Shanghai holds a farewell ceremony for new recruits in the second half of 2023, successfully completing the annual recruitment task
This afternoon, the farewell ceremony for new recruits was held at Shanghai Railway Station. This year, the new recruits took 2 days to depart, and a concentrated pre service education of no less than 7 days was implemented before the departure.
This year, our city has resolutely implemented the conscription orders of the State Council and the Central Military Commission, firmly established the goal of war oriented work, optimized the structure of soldiers as the main line, and improved the quality of soldiers as the core. We have closely focused on the key and difficult points of college graduates, science and engineering graduates, and conditional conscription, deeply tapping into potential, strictly standardizing conditions, and strictly adhering to disciplinary regulations. We have successfully completed the annual conscription tasks assigned to our city by the State Council and the Central Military Commission, with graduates of all levels and types accounting for 75.6% of the total number of new recruits, setting a new historical high.
Bao Qiyan, a recent graduate of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, gave up his dream job and chose to serve in harsh areas. He said that it is everyone's responsibility to defend the motherland, and after enlisting, he is willing to use loyalty to guard the borders of the motherland. Weng Jianning, a recent graduate of the School of Energy and Power Engineering at Shanghai University of Technology, said that the military in the new era needs more versatile scientific and technological talents. He hopes that after joining the military, he can leverage his professional expertise and contribute to the national defense cause.
