China has been Indonesia's largest trading partner for 10 consecutive years, and as China's largest economic center city, Shanghai is actively expanding its opening up and strengthening international cooperation. Shanghai attaches great importance to friendly exchanges with Indonesia, forming friendly cities with East Java Province and Jakarta Special Administrative Region, and establishing friendly exchange relations with Yogyakarta Special Administrative Region. Over the years, the two regions have conducted rich and diverse exchanges and extensive practical cooperation. We hope to take the opportunity of jointly building the high-quality development of the "the Belt and Road" to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Indonesia in the fields of economy and trade, two-way investment, cultural tourism, etc. We warmly welcome more Indonesian enterprises to attend the Expo and continue to expand the business layout in Shanghai.
Maruf said that he is very pleased to be in the very modern Shanghai, which plays a crucial role as an important gateway and bilateral trade hub between Indonesia and China. We hope that both sides will continue to strengthen trade and investment cooperation in areas such as infrastructure, energy transformation, green economy, and halal industry. At the same time, we look forward to further strengthening cultural exchanges between the two regions, encouraging cooperation in the field of education, especially vocational education, promoting human resource development, and welcoming more Shanghai tourists to Indonesia for sightseeing.
