At the youngest age of 17, 142 Shanghai athletes went to Tianjin to participate in the second National Vocational Skills Competition
The second Vocational Skills Competition of the People's Republic of China will be held in Tianjin from September 16th to 19th. The competition is themed "Skills for Talent and Skills for the Country", with a total of 109 competition events, including 62 world competition selection projects and 47 national competition selection projects. The reporter learned from the Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security that more than 400 Shanghai participating delegations and technical support teams arrived in Tianjin on September 13th.
Since 2022, Shanghai has been deeply promoting the selection and training of the second National Skills Competition and the preparation work for the 47th World Championship. It has organized and carried out the first Shanghai Vocational Skills Competition to select Shanghai participants for the second National Championship. At the same time, it has created a professional technical guidance and support team and issued a series of policy documents related to vocational skills competitions. After multiple rounds of selection, Shanghai has sent a total of 142 contestants to participate in the second national competition. They will compete with skilled experts from various provinces, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and industries such as housing, transportation, machinery, and light industry in all 109 projects.
It is reported that the contestants include students from "Double First Class" universities such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University, as well as students from vocational colleges and employees of enterprises. Among them, there are 55 students on campus and 87 employees on the job; 109 male players and 33 female players; The maximum age is 58 years old and the minimum is 17 years old. Expert coaches include professors from higher education institutions and key vocational colleges who have long been deeply involved in the field of education and teaching, and have rich experience in talent cultivation. They also have skilled professionals from well-known leading enterprises, with industry reputation and influence, proficient in world advanced technologies and development trends.
In terms of training base construction, according to the "one project multiple bases" model, Shanghai has established 130 training bases for the 47th World Cup in 47 units, including 20 higher education institutions, 23 vocational schools, and 4 training institutions owned by central units in Shanghai and municipal state-owned enterprises. In addition, some enterprises and industry associations participate in the work related to the base as technical support units, providing various support guarantees.
The competition will award gold, silver, and bronze medals to the top three contestants in each competition event. Award winners to contestants who are outside the top 3 but rank above half of the total number of participants. The top 5 winners of each competition will be awarded the title of "National Technical Expert" after approval. Contestants who win awards or above in skill related projects can be directly promoted to the technician's professional skill level. Those who have already obtained the technician's professional skill level can be promoted to senior technician. In the selection project of the World Skills Competition, the top 5 players in the individual event and the top 3 players in the team event will be nominated for the Chinese training team at the 47th World Skills Competition.
In addition, to increase incentive efforts, Shanghai will also provide corresponding material and spiritual rewards in accordance with regulations, including prioritizing the selection and recognition of Shanghai's high skilled talents for award-winning contestants, relevant individuals and teams who meet relevant conditions, as well as the "Shanghai May Day Labor Medal", "Shanghai Youth May Fourth Medal", "Shanghai Worker Pioneer", "Shanghai Education Merit", "Shanghai Teaching Achievement Award", etc. At the same time, policy preferences will be given in talent introduction, professional title evaluation, and recruitment in public institutions.
