This is the second symposium hosted by General Secretary since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China on the development strategy of this region.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the implementation of the Northeast Revitalization Strategy, the 5th anniversary of the Symposium on Deepening the Promotion of Northeast Revitalization, and the beginning year of implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, as well as an important year of starting the comprehensive construction of a socialist modernized country. The special time frame makes this symposium more meaningful.

In the historical coordinates of China's development, Northeast China holds an extremely special position and role. This black land is intertwined with glory and dreams, as well as pain and reflection.

As the "eldest son of the Republic", the Northeast region gave birth to the first furnace of steel, the first machine tool, the first jet aircraft, the first 10000 ton giant ship, and the first diesel locomotive of New China, writing a brilliant and brilliant page in the development history of New China.

However, during the surging tide of reform and opening up, the development of the Northeast region has encountered bottlenecks and challenges - the institutional, mechanistic, and structural problems of the old industrial base have become increasingly apparent, the competitiveness of traditional pillar industries has weakened, and some backbone enterprises are facing difficulties in production and operation

In 2003, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China made a major decision to implement the revitalization strategy for old industrial bases in the Northeast region, marking the beginning of the revitalization of old industrial bases in the Northeast region.

He once said with deep emotion, "There are many people from Northeast China, and I am very concerned about the revitalization and development here."

Why does General Secretary have such deep thoughts on the development and revitalization of the Northeast region?

In 2016, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued several opinions on the comprehensive revitalization of old industrial bases in Northeast China and other regions. In 2019, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council made important arrangements to support the deepening of reform and innovation in the Northeast region and promote high-quality development. In 2020, the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China called for new breakthroughs in promoting the revitalization of Northeast China. In 2021, with the approval of the State Council, the National Development and Reform Commission issued the "14th Five Year Plan for Comprehensive Revitalization of Northeast China", which clarifies the key tasks, policies, and projects for comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China during the "14th Five Year Plan" period. In 2022, the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed to achieve new breakthroughs in promoting the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China.

How to seize opportunities and further promote the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China? The General Secretary has made the latest deployment:
