The accuracy of China's space weather forecast has reached the international advanced level
CCTV News: Recently, it was learned from the National Space Weather Monitoring and Early Warning Center of the China Meteorological Administration that China has established a standardized and quantitative space weather monitoring, forecasting, and early warning service. The accuracy of space weather forecasting has reached the international advanced level, and the sixth international duty mission of the Global Space Weather Center of the International Civil Aviation Organization has been successfully completed recently.
The research object of space weather is the space field more than 30 kilometers away from the Earth's surface, mainly including the solar corona, interplanetary, magnetosphere, ionosphere, and middle and upper atmosphere in the solar terrestrial space. Most aerospace, satellite, communication, and navigation activities occur or rely on this space domain. After years of efforts, China has now formed an integrated space weather monitoring pattern, and has preliminarily achieved commercial monitoring of important parameters of the sun, geomagnetism, ionosphere, and mid to upper atmosphere.
Guo Jianguang, Director of the Space Weather Forecast Station of the National Satellite Meteorological Center: Space weather forecasting mainly consists of two aspects: parameter forecasting and event forecasting. The parameter forecast mainly includes the sun's 10.7 centimeters and geomagnetic activity index. Among the major countries that have issued such forecasts, we are in a leading position. In terms of event forecasting, including solar proton events, flares, and geomagnetic storm events, we are comparable to the international level.

At present, the Space Weather Monitoring and Warning Center is vigorously promoting the construction of the first generation of "full link" space weather numerical forecasting business system. It is expected that the new generation of space weather business system - "Fengyun Space" will be fully deployed next year.
