Longwangmiao Village, Laojieji Township, Shangzhi City, Heilongjiang Province, is adjacent to the Dani River to the north and the Xiaoni River to the east. The two rivers intersect on the north side of the village and eventually merge into the Lalin River.

Since the beginning of the flood season, many parts of China, including Shangzhi City in Heilongjiang Province, have been hit by rare historical floods due to heavy rainfall. 58.8% of the farmland in Longwangmiao Village was affected by the disaster, and 145 households were damaged by flooding.

On August 1st, General Secretary once again issued important instructions on flood prevention and disaster relief work, calling for full efforts to search and rescue missing and trapped personnel, to do a good job in treating injured personnel and comforting the families of the victims, and to minimize casualties. We should properly resettle the affected population, promptly repair damaged infrastructure such as transportation, communication, and electricity, and restore normal production and living order as soon as possible.

On August 17th, on the occasion of significant achievements in flood control and disaster relief, the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee held a meeting to study and deploy flood control and disaster relief, as well as post disaster recovery and reconstruction work. The General Secretary emphasized at the meeting that we must always be cautious and do a good job in flood prevention, fighting floods, and disaster relief.

On August 4th, in Wanshan Village, Yishanpo Town, Shangzhi City, Heilongjiang Province, forest firefighters in Harbin rescued trapped villagers.

In Longwangmiao Village, the General Secretary passionately said, "I am concerned about the disaster stricken areas. In China, when the people encounter difficulties, we still need to give full play to the superiority of our socialism, which means that when one side is in difficulty, we will provide support from all directions and the country will fully support us. We hope that the disaster relief and reconstruction work will be successful and smooth."

Natural disasters have no lovers but emotions. Currently, the affected areas have shifted their focus to the post disaster recovery and reconstruction phase.

Shangzhi City has a cultivated land area of over 3.4 million mu, and last year its grain production exceeded 2.7 billion jin, making it a major grain producing county in China.

At present, there are still traces of water in the rice fields of Longwangmiao Village, but the already grouted rice ears are gradually maturing. The corn not far away is also close to harvest.

The harvest of crops is related to people's income and food security. The progress of the recovery of production and life, as well as the progress of disaster prevention and relief among the villagers, is deeply concerned by the General Secretary.

In the summer of 2020, China experienced severe flooding.In the Xitianpo village of Mengwa flood storage area, the General Secretary braved the scorching sun and walked into the fields, delving deep into the farmers of the village: "I have always been concerned about the people in the disaster area. Seeing that the villagers have a stable and hopeful production and life, my heart is at ease."

In October 2021, Shanxi experienced the strongest autumn flood since meteorological records, and Fengnanyuan Village in Linfen was one of the villages with more severe damage to agricultural houses."I have always been concerned about the people in the disaster area. Today, my first stop in Shanxi is to see the post disaster recovery and reconstruction situation on site."

The reconstruction work of Longwangmiao Village is currently underway.

The autumn equinox is approaching, and autumn grain production has entered a critical period.
