Fengqiao Town, located at the western foot of the Kuaiji Mountains, is a millennium old town under the jurisdiction of Zhuji City, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. It is also well-known to the people of the whole country for its "Fengqiao Experience" that originated here.

A history of Zhuji, half of which is located at Fengqiao. As early as the Sui and Tang dynasties, a bridge and post station were built at the Fengxi Ferry on the Fengxi River, hence the name "Fengqiao". For thousands of years, not only have the "Fengqiao Three Sages" who have made locals proud emerged here - Wang Mian, Yang Weizhen, and Chen Hongshou - but they have also created a banner of grassroots social governance in China - the "Fengqiao Experience".

The Fengqiao Experience Exhibition Hall is located in Fengqiao Town, Zhuji City, Shaoxing City. It was completed and put into use in October 2018, becoming an important platform for promoting the "Fengqiao Experience".

Turn the clock back 60 years ago. In early 1963, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to launch a socialist education movement in rural areas throughout the country. In June of the same year, the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China dispatched a work team to Fengqiao District in Zhuji County to carry out a pilot socialist education movement in seven communes.

The cadres participating in the pilot program rely on the masses, reason and attack their hearts, educate and reform the "four types of elements" on the spot, and create the "Fengqiao experience" of "mobilizing and relying on the masses, adhering to the principle of not handing over conflicts, solving problems on the spot, and achieving fewer arrests and good public security".

After learning about the practices in Fengqiao District, Comrade Mao Zedong specifically issued instructions to promote the "Fengqiao Experience" to the whole country. From then on, the flag of "Fengqiao Experience" spread from the small town to the whole country, fluttering high on the land of China.

From "Ping An Fengqiao" to "Ping An Zhejiang"

For decades, the "Fengqiao experience" of relying on the masses to resolve conflicts on the spot has been constantly given new connotations. The cadres and masses of Fengqiao have summarized the work principle of "not leaving the village for small matters, not leaving the town for major matters, and not submitting conflicts", which has accumulated valuable experience for maintaining social stability in the new era.

From "Ping An Fengqiao" to "Ping An Zhejiang", and then to the construction of "Ping An China" proposed at the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the "Fengqiao Experience" is full of vitality.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the "Fengqiao Experience" has continued to enrich and develop in the new era. From rural areas to cities, from the field of social security to various fields such as economy, politics, and culture, the "Fengqiao Experience" in the new era is playing an increasingly important role in grassroots social governance.
