Since the beginning of this year's flood season, there have been multiple heavy rainfall processes in Beijing Tianjin Hebei and Northeast China, causing floods and geological disasters, and a large number of farmland and houses have been washed away.
Although the flood has receded, there are still obvious signs of flooding in the fields. A large area of rice is lying on the ground, and the stems and ears are covered in mud.
At the beginning of August, successive days of rainstorm caused the water level in Longwangmiao Village of Dani River to rise abruptly. The surging flood overflowed the river embankment and rushed to the villages, engulfing a large area of farmland along the bank.
"Yes, about half of the farmland in the village was affected by the disaster," said the local official.
According to local officials, after the disaster, they promptly drained the accumulated water and sprayed foliar fertilizers, growth agents, etc., which played a certain role in ensuring the harvest.
"How much of the harvest can this land be guaranteed?" asked the General Secretary.
"Farmland that has been less affected by disasters can be protected by about 50%," said the local responsible comrade.
Next to the farmland is a disaster damaged house that is being rebuilt, with brick walls built on all four sides. The beams will be installed in a few days.
"Besides the kang, there is also a fire wall."
"Yes, there will be a layer of insulation sheet hanging."
"The weather in Northeast China is cold, so you can't get cold in winter!" General Secretary reminded local officials, "We must ensure that the affected people can move in before winter."
One important deployment after another, with constant concern and advice, is full of the deep affection of "putting the people first and life first".
Leaving the construction site, the General Secretary walked along the village road to inspect the reconstruction and restoration of damaged houses and infrastructure.
During this flood, Yang Chungui's house, which was built by the village road, also flooded. The house built over 20 years ago, although not in great condition, has severe damage to the walls and still has water stains over 1 meter high on the exterior walls. These days, he has been busy repairing the house.
"The renovation cost less than 60000 yuan, and the government provided some subsidies. I also took this opportunity to tidy up the house," said Yang Chungui.
"What are the needs for post disaster reconstruction now?" General Secretary asked with concern.
"The Party and the government have all thought of dredging, disinfection, and post disaster relief, and have done everything we could not have imagined. Now we hope to strive for more harvest in the autumn harvest, so that the prices of grain can improve in the later stage, and we can even out the cost without compensation."
Seeing that the lives of the people in the disaster area have basically returned to normal and the post disaster reconstruction is full of enthusiasm, the General Secretary was very pleased: "If there are any inconvenient places for the people after the disaster, starting from the basic aspects, such as food, drink, housing, transportation, employment, education, medical and epidemic prevention, all levels of government should do these things well one by one."
The villagers who heard the news gathered by the village road and greeted the General Secretary one after another.
Kind words make the audience feel warm.
"In China, when the people encounter difficulties, they still need to give full play to the superiority of the socialist system, which means that when one party is in difficulty, all parties can support it, and the country can fully support it!"
