Entering the Meilan Lake · Da Yin Bookstore, one can intuitively feel that it is full of popularity. On September 10th, the first children's literature themed museum in China, "Chen Bochui International Children's Literature Museum," officially opened. The Meilan Lake · Dayin Bookstore, jointly built by the People's Government of Luodian Town in Baoshan District and Shanghai Dayin Bookstore Co., Ltd., welcomed visitors on the same day.

This large bookstore located in the small town of Meilan Lake has a building area of about 2500 square meters, with two floors above and below, and is currently the largest large bookstore. The Chen Bochui International Children's Literature Museum, with an area of approximately 800 square meters, is located on the second floor. Currently, there are 12000 children's literature books available for readers to borrow, and more than 50000 books will circulate throughout the year.

This is a comprehensive theme library that combines reading experience, literature display, and creative research. It has a Chen Bochui International Children's Literature Award theme exhibition area, Chen Bochui's works section, previous Chen Award winning works section, Global Excellent Children's Literature Award winning works section, as well as various excellent children's literature works from both domestic and foreign sources. Based on Mr. Chen Bochui's creative sentiment of "writing great literature for children", it showcases the reading scene of "listening with children's ears, seeing with children's eyes, and experiencing with children's hearts" from the perspective of children. On both sides of the corridor outside the Chen Bochui International Children's Literature Museum, the life journey of how Chen Bochui, born in Luodian, Baoshan, became a master of children's literature, as well as the development process of the Chen Bochui International Children's Literature Award, founded by Chen Bochui and currently permanently settled in Baoshan, were sorted out.

The "Library" refers to the Chen Bochui International Children's Literature Museum. As a library, the Chen Bochui International Children's Literature Museum has self-service borrowing and returning equipment, and readers can apply for a borrowing card by paying a deposit of 100 yuan. Each time, they can borrow 3 books. Since its trial operation on September 1st, more than 300 borrowing cards have been issued, with an average of about 2500 visitors per day. During weekend peak hours, the Meilan Lake · Da Yin Bookstore receives over 4000 readers every day, with over half of them entering the Chen Bochui International Children's Literature Museum. In the future, the Shanghai University Children's Literature Research Center, jointly established by the School of Literature of Shanghai University, the People's Government of Luodian Town in Baoshan District, and the Da Yin Bookstore, will be established here as a theoretical research, work creation, and reading activity base for children's literature. The Chen Bochui International Children's Literature Museum will regularly hold "Children's Literature Reading Meetings," "Children's Story Meetings," and "Children's Literature Creation Workshops" through literature collection, theme exhibitions, event design, social education, and academic research. It will be built into a collection and storage center for children's literature works in Shanghai, a publicity and exhibition center for excellent children's literature works in China, and an academic exchange center for global children's literature creation.

He Xuan said that in order to sustain the popularity of books, the operation of bookstores must be sustainable. The reading atmosphere of bookstores is not only limited to the books themselves, but also needs to create an ecosystem that gathers more cultural content and commercial resources, so that more people are willing to stay in this space for more time, and will naturally access more reading resources.
