Under the guidance of the Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee, the Shanghai Opera Art Center has held three consecutive years of theme practice activities for opera masters to "delve into life and root in the people" since 2017. This year, the center brought renowned opera masters and outstanding young actors from the Yangtze River Delta region to key enterprises, institutions, and cultural landmarks in Nanhui New City. Through condolence performances, artistic guidance, and research, the center felt the pulse of the new city's development and inherited and disseminated excellent traditional Chinese culture. The event received enthusiastic support and response from artists who won the Plum Blossom Award, Wenhua Award, and Magnolia Award in the Yangtze River Delta region.
In the first performance on the 19th, more than 20 award-winning actors competed on stage, performing classic phrases such as "Empty City Plan", "Visiting Popularization", "Grass Green in the Spring Festival and March", "Romance of the Western Chamber", "Great Flood", "Appreciating Mid Autumn Festival", "Triumph", and "Tang Bohu Flies Autumn Fragrance", paying tribute to grassroots workers. Young and middle-aged opera masters Fu Xiru, Wu Shuang, Zhu Jian, Fang Yafen, Liang Weiping, Gao Bowen, Wu Xinbo, Wang Yushu, and Li Xiaoxu have joined the "gathering" of opera and the future city.
