As one of the opening performances of this year's art festival, on October 14th, at the Fountain Square of the Shanghai Exhibition Center, the world's top conductor Christopher Eisenbach led the Chinese Shanghai International Art Festival Festival Orchestra, and performed classical music masterpieces such as Mendelssohn's "Violin Concerto in E-minor", Tchaikovsky's "Polonaise", Ravel's "Daphne and Kroe", along with soprano Angela Georgiou and violinist Maxim Vinglov, as well as arias such as "A Sunny Day" and "One Night in the Deep Sea".
As an innovative move of this year's art festival, the Shanghai International Art Festival Festival Orchestra in China is a new band composed of conductor Xu Zhong as the joint artistic director and the Shanghai Opera Symphony Orchestra as the team, under the operation and coordination of the Shanghai International Art Festival Center. It also incorporates the voice chief and excellent musicians of the top domestic symphony orchestras.
This performance is not only the global debut of the Shanghai International Art Festival Festival Orchestra in China, but also the first time that the Shanghai Exhibition Center has opened the outdoor fountain square as an outdoor performance space to the public. When the symphony resounds through the bustling city center, the audience can not only appreciate the historical charm of magnificent buildings, but also feel a grand outdoor art feast.
