1. Xu Huadong, former deputy secretary of Kunshan Municipal Party Committee, transferred to acting mayor of Taicang City
According to the WeChat official account of "Taicang Release", the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee approved the nomination of Comrade Xu Huadong as the candidate for mayor of Taicang City. The Suzhou Municipal Party Committee has decided to appoint Comrade Xu Huadong as the Deputy Secretary of the Taicang Municipal Party Committee. On September 10th, the 12th meeting of the 17th Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Taicang City decided to appoint Xu Huadong as the Vice Mayor and Acting Mayor of Taicang City.
Xu Huadong, male, Han ethnicity, born in July 1972, is an in-service graduate student with a master's degree and a member of the Communist Party of China. Xu Huadong graduated from Southeast University in 1994 and has been working in Suzhou for a long time. He has served as the Secretary of the Wuzhong Youth League District Committee, Chairman of the Youth Federation, and Deputy Secretary of the Suzhou Youth League Municipal Committee. In 2005, Xu Huadong was appointed as a member of the Party Group of Suzhou Economic and Trade Commission and Deputy Director of the Small and Medium sized Enterprise Bureau. Later, he also served as Vice President of Suzhou Federation of Industry and Commerce. In 2012, he became Deputy Director of Suzhou Economic and Information Commission. In 2013, Xu Huadong was appointed as the Director and Party Secretary of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Suzhou Municipal Government. In 2018, he was appointed as the Deputy Secretary General of the Suzhou Municipal Government. During this time, he went to Ningxia to serve as a member of the Standing Committee and Deputy Mayor of Yinchuan City, as well as the Deputy Director and Party Member of the Development and Reform Commission of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. In December 2020, Xu Huadong was transferred to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Kunshan Municipal Party Committee, and later concurrently served as Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of the Municipal Party Committee, marking this adjustment.
2. Export vehicles at Lianyungang Port, ranking third in the country
In the first eight months of this year, Lianyungang Port exported 215000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 73.29%. As the third ranked roll on/roll off vehicle terminal in China, Lianyungang Port's export routes cover Europe, Southeast Asia, South America, and the Middle East.
The roll on/roll off business of Lianyungang Port began as early as 2005 and has shown explosive growth since 2018. In 2018, there were 21000 units, 65000 units in 2019, 85000 units in 2020, 150000 units in 2021, and 226000 units in 2022, achieving double-digit growth for five consecutive years and successfully becoming one of the three major ports for exporting machinery, equipment, and vehicles in China. The next step for Lianyungang Port is to accelerate the qualification application for the import port of complete vehicles, strive to achieve bidirectional vehicle flow as soon as possible, and build Lianyungang Port into a domestic and foreign import and export vehicle base and distribution center, providing strong support for the construction of "Ten Million TEUs, Oriental Port".
3. Xiuzhou is the first in Zhejiang Province to complete the "Village to Village Connection" of charging stations
On August 10th, with the completion of pile construction in Hualian Village, Wangjiangjing Town, the "Village to Village Connection" work in Xiuzhou District was officially completed, and a "5-minute charging circle" was formed between villages, achieving a charging pile every two kilometers in each village.
Recently, Xiuzhou District has focused on the difficulties in charging new energy vehicles in rural areas and established a working mechanism of "policy led, electricity proactive, and social mainstay". 247 new public charging stations have been built in 98 administrative villages throughout the district. In August of this year, it took the lead in achieving full coverage of public charging stations in all villages in the province, creating a "village to village" network of public charging facilities. At present, a total of 193 public charging stations and 1021 public charging piles have been built in Xiuzhou District, Jiaxing City, to help new energy vehicles travel to rural areas with peace of mind.
