On September 16th, the International Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports Conference opened in Xingyi City, Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province. The theme of this conference is "Integration of Culture, Sports and Tourism with High Quality Life", aiming to deeply explore the deep integration of mountain tourism and multiple industries, promote the high-quality development of mountain tourism formats, and provide tourists with a high-quality tourism experience.
This year's Mountain Tourism Conference has incorporated distinctive elements from Guizhou and southwestern Guizhou, with a rich variety of activities and content. For example, the conference will hold five themed activities, including the International Mountain Tourism Alliance Annual Conference and World Famous Mountain Dialogue, Guizhou Province Sports and Tourism Industry Investment Attraction Activities, and the International Mountain Tourism Destination City Construction Forum. In terms of sports events, five events have been held, including the National Softball Championship and Summer Camp, the China "Legend" Challenge, the 17th China Wanfeng Lake Wild Fishing Grand Prix, the International High Bridge Extreme Sports Invitational, and the 2023 Wanfeng Forest Half Marathon. Other events are also progressing in an orderly manner.
During the conference, two special events will also be launched. Among them, the launch of Maotai Group's "Maoxiaoling Wine Heart Chocolate" has attracted much attention. This is the second time in half a month that Maotai Group has launched a cross-border joint product. Previously, Maotai and Luckin Coffee launched a joint coffee called "Sauce flavored Latte" which went on sale on September 4th. On the day of its first launch, it became popular throughout the internet, with daily sales of over 5.42 million cups and single product sales exceeding 100 million yuan. The joint launch of Moutai and Defu's liquor chocolate this time is not only another attempt by Moutai to explore the brand's youthfulness, but also an important measure for Guizhou to continuously enrich tourism elements and enhance tourism cultural connotations. In addition, the inaugural ceremony of Guizhou Qinglv Zhiyou Automobile Service was held. This is an important step for Guizhou to collaborate with Dongfeng Group to create a comprehensive and green tourism car rental service across the province, aiming to provide convenient and green car services for tourists and enhance the travel and vacation experience of self driving tours in Guizhou.
For Guizhou, the Mountain Tourism Conference has become a "golden business card" for foreign exchanges. As the only national and international summit with mountain tourism as its theme in China, the Mountain Tourism Conference has been successfully held for six consecutive sessions since 2015. Its influence both domestically and internationally is expanding, providing an important platform for promoting international cooperation and exchange in mountain tourism and outdoor sports.
Li Liang, the manager of Guiyang Monkey Ear Extreme Cool Play Park Management Co., Ltd., who has participated in multiple conferences, said that as a major mountainous tourism province, Guizhou's mountain tourism development is getting better and better. "Firstly, some universities in the province are strengthening the training of outdoor sports knowledge. Secondly, the number of people seeking stimulation from mountain tourism is increasing. Importantly, after three years of challenges from the epidemic, the pursuit of fitness and physical health has gradually become a consensus among people. On this basis, the development of mountain tourism has broad prospects." Li Liang hopes that with the platform of the conference, more outdoor professional teams, outdoor equipment manufacturers, and others can participate in the future, jointly promoting the later development of mountain tourism.
In recent years, Guizhou has vigorously developed its tourism industry relying on its unique natural resources and colorful ethnic culture. Previously, Guizhou visited Shanghai multiple times for cultural and tourism promotion and investment promotion, and created exclusive tourism preferential policies for Shanghai citizens, hoping to use Shanghai's platform to promote tourism. From January to August this year, the tourism market in Guizhou Province received 464 million tourists and generated tourism revenue of 534.466 billion yuan, respectively recovering to 109.2% and 117.7% of 2019; The per capita consumption of tourists reached 1152.25 yuan, recovering from 107.8% in 2019.
